Beyond food/bev/venue

One more question...

Beyond venue/food/bev, about how much (a range or percentage) do you wind up paying for "everything else?" (ie florals, band/dj, photograhper, etc). I know it depends on your budget, but we're sort of in the dark when it comes to guessing how much we're going to be spending- as we're trying to pick a venue and estimate a "total" cost. =)

Thank you for your help!!!!

I think the estimate is that the venue is 40% of the cost. For us, I think it was about 50%.

I think we'll be around 50% too for our venue.

This is a rough breakdown for our wedding, which was about $20K:

Reception venue (included cake, linens, champagne toast, tx & gratuity) - 12K
    Photographer - 2K
    Flowers - 1.4K
    DJ - $800
Dress, veil, accessories, etc - $800
    Limo - $300
Video - $300 (we had a college student)
Bpics (gift for DH) - $300
    Invitations & Paper (DIY) - $200

Hair & makeup for me and the girls was a gift from MIL, not sure of the cost but I think it was ~$800. Our honeymoon was a gift from my parents, I think around $2K.

Basically, prioritize what's important to you. Some people want the best of the best photography and will splurge there and go easy on a DJ and video and limo. Some people spend a huuuuuge chunk on flowers. Think about what matters most to you and allocate your funds accordingly. I would have cut back on flowers, looking back, because we didn't need much to dress up our church and venue (and what we did decorate it with was minimal to begin with).

    GL!

Including EVERYTHING else except honeymoon (which we're not including in the wedding budget at all), venue is 52%, everything else is 48%.

Everything else: Photography, DJ, Ceremony, Rings, Paper, Attire/Accessories, Beauty, Transportation, Rehearsal Dinner, Gifts, Dance Lessons, etc.

Venue: Food, bar, gratuities, cake, cake topper (and included in our package are centerpieces, hotel room & linens)

Shazzie,  Can you tell me how your experience with your videographer was?  It's definitely not a huge priority, and don't want to spend a ton on it.

    Thanks!
