Not your typical wedding...

What special touch are you adding to your ceremony/reception to make it different or stand out from the usual?

My husband will be singing me down the aisle and my bridal party will be introduced into the reception on individual upbeat songs that they can cut a little rug to, but I would like to add a few other elements to the ceremony/reception to make it more special!

    I want my guys to be wearing bowties as well!! I dont know if FI will go for that though.

    mine are bowties and matching color suspenders...playing the Rocky theme song (not eye of the tiger, the other non word one) when i come down the isle..

    My wedding is what I am calling surf and turf... the ceremony is on land at a cute church andthe reception is a 5 day cruise to Bermuda! I am also using no flowers at all since we wont be home for me to dry them as a keepsake.... its huricanes and candle for tables and I am having hundreds of ribbon and lace flowers made for all bouqets.

    My FI and I are giving out rubber duckies as party favors. I love duckies and my bathroom is all rubber duckies, my FI likes to surprise me with a new duckie every once in a while.

    We're doing a Red Solo Cup toast. FI and I are very far from classy or traditional and we both had concern that doing a champagne toast was totally not us and would seem cliche and forced. So FMIL suggested we toast with beer in cups, and I love it.

    We will be together 10years the day after the wedding - so we are throwing in hidden 10s - 10 tables, 10 flowers... just little things between him & me... We are also getting married on a Thursday for the 10-11-12 date :)
    i know there is more but i cant think of anything lol

    we are walking down the aisle together and we have no bridal party due to the fact that i just don't want that extra stress. plus.. less money to worry about having. ;)

    Destination wedding, baby!  The first one in either of our families, in fact - so I guess that's unique in a way.

    We're also not doing the traditional seating with the bride's people on one side and the groom's people on the other side.  We'll have our ring bearer holding a sign similar to this as people arrive:
    Country Rustic Wedding Seating Sign, seating plan, "No need to pick a side, Just pick a seat, Because today, two families are becoming one"

    We are doing this sort of seating thing too! i have way more guests then he does and i just wanted the seating to be even :)
    The sign we might use says almost the same thing -
    "As two families are becoming one, We ask that you choose a seat, and not a side <3 "

    We used Final Fantasy music because H is a huge FF fan. We also had fondue instead of wedding cake. I used a handfan instead of a bouquet and H wore a brooch as a bout because we're both really not flower people.

    So much of my wedding is non-traditional, but the biggest things are probably that we're doing a 1920s theme (guests are encouraged to dress up - not required), FI and I are walking down the aisle together, and we're doing a wine box ceremony (instead of a unity candle).
