Since this is one of the most diverse group of people I know, I wanted to put this out there. My FI and I are going on a roadtrip at the end of the month and I am looking for ideas for places to eat and drink, and things to see and do. We'll be stopping in the following cities for at least a meal:
Cincinnati, OH
Nashville, TN
Little Rock, AR
Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX
Memphis, TN
St. Louis, MO
Indianapolis, IN
Anyone have any recs???
Re: NWR: Road trip!
[QUOTE]OMG, so many recommendations for Cincinnati... I'll have to think on this so I can recommend the best places! ... But for now I will recommend stopping at one of the Graeter's Ice Cream shops for their Black Raspberrry Chip ice cream. It's so good it's almost as good as sex. I wish I were kidding.

<div>Thanks, Goofy! For Cincy, we'll be cruising through around the brunch hour, if that helps to narrow it down for you. :)</div>
[QUOTE]If someone promised me ice cream that's almost as good as sex, I'd stop in, despite the brunch hour part... as long as it wasn't in the back of a windowless van...

HAHA!! I assure you it's a legit and totally awesome. Celebrities even have them ship it to them.

Cincinnati, OH - 5-way chili is the 'thing' here of course. We went to Blue Ash Chili, which was also featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It's supposed to be one of the best! Downtown is a neat area, too.
Nashville, TN - Pancake Pantry! Go for breakfast, get there early if it's a weekday and be prepared to stand in line if it's a weekend. Seriously, I don't like pancakes that much, but...these are amazing. Get the sweet potato pancakes with the cinnamon butter syrup. Apparently all the Nashville celebs like Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman go here a lot too! The Country Music Hall of Fame is a really good museum. FI even liked it, and he hates country music. If you're interested in live music, just take a stroll down Broadway at night and follow your ears!
Little Rock, AR - Clinton Presidential Museum and Library. Again, just a really good museum. Didn't stay long enough to eat anything though!
Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX - The one I haven't been to!
Memphis, TN - BBQ tofu nachos! Trust me, I know it sounds crazy but they are insanely good. Find them at RP Tracks, near the university. I'm a little disappointed we didn't make it to the Civil Rights Museum, supposed to be good!
St. Louis, MO - Italian food. Go to "The Hill" neighborhood (you'll know it from all of the Italian flags waving around), and there will be tons of family-owned old-school Italian restaurants that are all amazing. The Budweiser factory/museum has a really interesting tour (for free!), and I've heard great things about the children's museum if you're travelling with little ones.
Indianapolis, IN - I'm told this is where to get the world's best shrimp cocktail. Go to St. Elmo's Steak House downtown, sit at the bar, and just order one shrimp cocktail. They're huge and also $20, and the sauce is really spicy. Then go somewhere else for dinner
Where else are you guys going? I'm full of ideas!

Still get the ice cream!!! No matter what time of day. That is also my fav. And if your coming to cincy you gotta try skyline chilli.
I have been to nashville but for the life of me can not think of the name of the place we ate. The country music hall of fame is fun to do but takes a few hrs to walk though.
If you don't want skyline, yes blueash chilli is also VERY yummy and they do have more then just chilli. The biggest BLT you will ever see!
