Bridesmaid Dress- Why is it so hard?!

I swear, I think this is the hardest part of all the planning, I can not for the life of me find a dress that isn't cheap looking for around $100-125, wth??! Anyone have any secrets/suggestions?

I'm having my bridesmaids dresses made by a seamstress. She's charging me $60 per girl (not inlcuding materials)... after materials, it comes out to like $95-$100.

maybe you can just look into having a seamstress here make it... the ones that work from home are usually cheaper.

    =)

i'm not sure if you are near the sawgrass and what kind of dresses you want...

but i went to the bcbg outlet and found the most beautiful dresses (in my opinion at least). they were originally $330 but $115 at the outlet. i was so so happy. if they don't have a size they can call another store. (i was lucky to find all of mine there)

    good luck!

Shetmo... that's a great idea... a lot of people actually told me the same thing... that you can find the dresses at places like Nordstrom, Sacks, etc... and it comes out to cheaper at times!!

My problem was trying to find the color I wanted... :/ - But nonetheless, it's a great idea!!! I'm glad you were able to find them!!=)

shetmo- I am close to the sawgrass, I was thinking about going there, its takes a lot for me to tackle that mall, lol.  That is the only place I have been kinda procrastinating on, but its good to hear it worked out for you, that means there is hope! Thank you :)

I think you are getting some good ideas on here - I was going to suggest an outlet store as well.  The seamstress is a great Idea also.  i was lucky to find a dress at Davids Bridal that we all liked that was under 100 and didnt look cheap but only because the color I chose came in a different fabric then a lot of the others - it's not shiny.  Good luck!

    MsGina.... best of luck!!

re: the pictures, thank you! I am so in love with them! She's an up-in-coming photographer and she's really inexpensive... she use to do a lot of corporate and did a couple of weddings... and now she's going at it stronger.... if you're looking for a photographer (that's inexpensive) she's a good option..

    her website is www.lissetteq.com

you can see more of my pics there...=)

You can also try J Crew.

If anything, you might be able to find designer bridesmaid dresses and then call RK Bridal or Pearls Place to see what they'll charge for those same dresses.

I'm going to have to go back to all of these stores, when i looked at some of these stores, they were much more than the budget, I'm going to have to take a closer look next time.

and you can also check online...

    bestbridalprices.com

for example - you got to a bridal store and you pick the dresses that you want... and chances are you can get them at this (or any other website) for WAY CHEAPER!

There is hope! Look closer and in places you wouldn't think. Even Target has their own line of bridesmaid dresses! If you're stuck, like the other girls said, you can ask RK Bridal or Pearl's Place what their prices are.

    Good luck!
