Who was/is your photographer?
Would you recommend them if you already have your pics done?
How varied/accommodating are their packages ?

I found an awesome photographer who has a gorgeous style, but he's from North Carolina. His rates are GREAT but I don't know if it will be worth it after paying for travel fees so I'm trying to do some research around the area. I keep seeing the same ones over and over on weddingwire so I was looking for some different ones.

    Gillette Portrait Arts. Raye put us right at ease, and I liked her so much that I am giving her photography skills as a gift to one of my best friends for her wedding (long backstory). Gillette worked with our limited budget to give us exactly what we need.

    I loved, loved, loved Jen Lowe.  She is such a sweet woman and you feel like she is a long-time friend from the moment you meet her.  She was incredibly flexible to work with and put in extra time and effort with everything that she does.  I can't recommend her highly enough.  Check out my wedding pictures at :

    The best money spent for my wedding.  The photographer, Bo, was so easy going and so dedicated to his job.  My husband and I had a lot of laughs with him.  He is so calm even when the schedule is pushed a lot.

    Loved their photos since they give us such a clear memory of our wedding.  I would recommend them to anyone without any hesitation. 

    BTW, their packages are quite flexible and I got a custom one for my own needs.  Highly recommend that you meet them before making any decision.

    would not recommend paying photographer extra for flight.  The bride will have too much to worry during the wedding date.  You really do not want to be concerned about the photographer's flight and transportation.  In addition, this one from NC does not know the area well.  Highly recommend finding a local one, there will be plenty of choice.

    There are so many great photographers in this general area! Spend that flight money towards a bigger photography package. I interviewed 16 photograhers, so I have definitely searched around in this area. I am on a budget for my wedding, but pictures were one area I refused to get caught up in on the price. I interviewed photographers from 2 thousand to 8 thousand. I went with Larry Huffman. Larryhuffmanphoto.com. He was the best I came across by far! There is no set time limit. He will be with you from the time you wake up till the time the party is over. His work is amazing! I am in photography so I was very selective when it comes to the quailty of their work. Plus, he was definitely reasonably priced! His packages started at 2 thousand. My package was a bit higher, because I got the works. But the 2 thousand dollar packages is really all you need. Anyway, best of luck!

    This.  Our wedding isn't until June, but she was great for our E-pics.  And she's just been great to deal with, and flexible.

    I'd recommend Carly Fuller and Mark Lovett--depending on your preferred personality b/c theyre very different people to work with but both have awesome photos. 
    Carly is younger and really bubbly which is why we decided to go with her.  I like how she'll fit right in the whole afternoon with my bridal party before the ceremony while taking pictures, and she makes everyone feel at ease.  Price wise she's very reasonable but right around the same mark as most other photographers in the area. 

    Mark and his wife are great too.  They're middle aged and have a ton of experience but are more serious.  My only concern was that people who aren't so used to having photos taken would maybe feel tense with them.  At the same time, I didn't see one photo that he's taken that was anything but gorgeous--you can trust you'll have nice pictures.

    If you look enough, you're probably going to find at least 2 or 3 photographers that you almost have to draw straws to choose one; there are so many great ones around here!

    Thanks for all your recommendations ladies. I'm still open to them.. and  I'm sending Carmen and Chad e-mails as we speak! I agree it does make sense to keep the money instead of spending it on travel costs.. because there's many more important things to pay for (like crab cakes) ;)

    We used Leah Blaise, with Photography by Leah.  I cannot say enough wonderful things about her.  She's so sweet, got a great eye, and her rates are very good as well.

    My photographer was Jenni from Forever Yesterday. She did AMAZING work. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Her prices were outstanding! We had shopped around and she has such a great eye! She was extremely professional and such a joy to work with. Look at how amazing my TTD photo came out! She also did my wedding and engagement photos too!
