Beach Wedding- Bridal party no shoes...Tacky?

I have a vision of what I want my bridal party to look like. I see everyone barefoot. I think the men with sandals look tacky. I want my bridesmaids to wear foot jewerly. Agree or disagree?

Re: Beach Wedding- Bridal party no shoes...Tacky?

  • I think this is fine, as long as the sand is really soft, and they have sandals to walk in up until the ceremony.
  • I would be fine going barefoot, but I would not wear foot jewelry.   I think you should let the bridesmaids decide for themselves if they want to wear foot jewelry or not.

As for the groomsmen.....well....guys tend to have not-so-nice feet.  So maybe see if you can talk them into a male pedicure (scrubbing/filing/leg massage) before the ceremony.    My fiance would die if he knew I told people this, but he has had a few pedicures and really enjoyed them.

  • I say go for it!  I agree with Avion on leaving the foot jewelry up to them. I'd personally feel a little silly in a toe ring or an anklet.
  • I agree, no shoes.  They will just get sand in them and shoes like flip flops can be hard to walk in on sand.

Leave the jewelry up to them though.
  • Barefoot is fine... but please first walk in the area without shoes to ensure that it's not a rocky beach or that the sand won't be too hot to walk on without shoes  (nothing says romance like bridesmaids and you hopping up the aisle trying not to cuss after stepping on sharp rocks/shells or after burning your feet!)

  • I would check with your bridal party first and make sure everyone was comfortable with it.  Some people may not be okay with it.
  • Thanks everyone! I will leave the foot jewerly up to them (even thought its super cute). Also, we are definitely going to go barefoot. My fiance' has gotten one pedicure in his life and actually enjoyed. I'll see have comfortable my groomsmen feel about showing their feet. By the way, great advice about testing the beach out first. Next question..I definitely want them to wear linen pants. How would it looked with a white shirt untucked? Too too casual??
