Snarky Brides

Good Evening!

What's up people?

My H and I just got home from the driving range where I managed to pull off a pretty consistent drive in the 200 range.  So I'm feeling pretty good about myself.  I may not have mad skills but at least I won't have to wear a shirt warning all other players to beware of my slice.  Well.. there was one intense divot situation in which I think the divot went farther than the ball.  Oops!

So now I'm chilling in the a/c and looking for good things to watch on tv so I can enjoy tonight to the fullest before summer classes begin tomorrow.

    Hi Anna!
    What classes are you taking?

I'm just hanging out, attempting to get started on some homework. But the cat is being friendly right now, so I don't want to get up and get my books!

I love grocery shopping, especially in the morning when there are no teenagers. The store by my house is FULL of middle schoolers around 230-3, and it's annoying as hell.

  • i'm taking a fun Physics class and doing a lecture/presentation series based on Interdisciplinary studies.
  • Exciting! I think I'd die trying to take physics. lol

  • Hey :)

I'm hanging out on E because I cannot figure out a sig on the other site. I followed the directions, but I'm still doing something wrong, so I need a  break.

Other than that, H just got home and we're waiting for dinner to be done cooking.
  • Well this was a bust ;)

Let me ask a question about a BBQ I'm prganizing for Memorial Day.  We're inviting a lot of N's friends from work, some for the first time, some have come before, plus my family.  We usually do a potluck style dinner, but I'd like to make a few cute red, white, and blue dishes.

I'm starting with this fruit salad:

What about other foods that will be easy to prepare beforehand and yummy for a general audience? Remember, I am kind of the suck with foods I haven't made before, so nothing TOO labor intensive.
  • Strawberries dipped in white chocolate and blus sprinkles! I saw them somewhere, lemme find it.

  • Good evening. I spent the night on the phone with an old friend trying to talk him through his latest relationship drama.

HIMYM just made my night after irritating me most of the season. That's all I'll say about that though since some people probably haven't seen it yet.

Sizing on the other site is problematic but otherwise a sig is just the web link with [ img ] [ / img ] on either side of the link. I used flickr to resize mine.

  • Celtic, for me it would just put that image code URL instead of the image.  Whatevs.

Anna, I love the idea of the parfaits, but we'll be at a park, so IDK how well they'll hold up :\  Maybe I need to have another party at my house with a red, white, and blue theme.
  • Sara, those are really cute! I think I'm making red velvet cake balls with white icing and blue sprinkles, so I'm not sure about dipping strawberries, too. Plus, will that be too much with the fruit salad or no?

<div>Make the parfaits in little mason jars.  Then you can have a lid on them for transports AND they'll look cute</div>
  • I love fruit, so I think both would be fine. Strawberries would be good for dessert alongside cakeballs for people who don't really like cake/desserts.

These cake balls are adorable too! http://pinterest.com/pin/174021973071540819/

  • Good point, Sara. I feel like I always overthink this kind of stuff.

excellent, Anna! I love that idea.  Off to find mason jars.
  • Got it, Celtic! it was my fault, obvs. I kept cutting out the [IMG] part because you don't need it here. Now I need to adjust the size.

<div>Glad you got it. I'm more used to that style of board than TK so I have a vague idea of how to make things work.</div>

  • I had three shows with finales tonight. Idk which one to start with tomorrow lol.

I'm also insanely jealous of FI right now.  I found an awesome king sized 4 poster bedframe and boxsprings for $70 at a rummage this weekend. He decided to set it up tonight and now he gets to sleep in it by himself till the wedding. I asked him if we can keep trading off and taking turns lol. But he's not having it.
