Dear Fellow Etsy Shoppers, I would like to share my abhorrent experience with MJVO Couture. Megan Jones was contacted by my dear friend (and bride) after seeing her infinity wrap dresses on Etsy. After much discussion about fabrics and reviewing sample dresses, Megan advised us that a sage green, slinky knit fabric would be an excellent choice for our bridesmaid dresses. Our collective of bridesmaids paid the $110 and sent our measurements to MJVO as requested by the beginning of January. Ms. Jones was contacted in February to check on the progress of the dresses and reported that she had never even received measurements, despite all four bridesmaids having sent them to the email address she gave a month prior. With haste, the dresses were constructed that week and mailed to us. We discovered that they were extremely tight, sheer and the fabric was very heavy. We contacted Megan immediately. She apologized and explained that she had not advised her students to construct the dresses with double skirts and the drones had automatically sewn a-line, single skirts. She further explained that this would be a simple fix and she would additionally sew in a lining. We returned our dresses with hope that Ms. Jones would deliver what she had promised. After several weeks passed, Ms. Jones altered a single bridesmaid dress and sent detailed pictures for us to review and approve. The dress was exactly what she had promised several months earlier and we advised her to proceed with the other dresses exactly as that one had been constructed. The dresses arrived and all but the one Ms. Jones had altered herself, can only be described as repugnant. Liz please add details here.... We contacted Megan with concern and she responded with snide remarks stating the fabric "we" chose could not tolerate all of these alterations. She also stated that we could not expect the dresses to fit us perfectly since she was not here to measure us. That response is unacceptable. Megan is the design expert who advised the fabric and due to her lack of organization, our dresses were not made properly which led to significant alterations. Further more, if she is not able to guarantee fit without physically measuring for a design, she should not offer made to measure garments. She offered to remake the dresses in a jersey fabric, but the trust had been broken. This left us without dresses and additional stress for the bride less than two weeks before her big day. An additional $800 was spent ordering infinity dresses from Henkka which were everything we had envisioned. In total, over $1200 was spent for four bridesmaid dresses and Ms. Jones, unable to deliver what she promised, reluctantly reimbursed us for $40 dollars for each dress after 4 weeks of attempting to contact her. I simply cannot understand how she justifies this kind of abominable customer service. Not only has she wasted our time, but it is simply insulting that she expects her customers to eat the cost of her reprehensible work. I am embarrassed for her and the future of her company.
