Need ALOT of help..

Ok, me and my fiancee just got engaged, though we're 17 (long story, we were going to after graduation anyway, but a big bump in the road occured, so it's gonna be April 20th of next year) and we're pretty much running off a low budget, since we're each going to paying with our own money we get from working, plus my mother is going to match what ever we have. But our budget it only about 10,400 dollars...and we're trying to find a reception site for really cheep, since we do't have a whole lot to spend..and we're going to even cut out the catorer, and buying our own food, since we're gonly going to have about 100-150 people at most at the reception..and we have no idea what to do. We live more up north, near Dayton.

    If you are going to do your own food, I'd say look into parks or VFW/ American Legion/ Knights of Columbus etc for your reception they usually have fairly nice inexpensive rooms that with a little imagination can be beautiful. I'm not too familiar with the Dayton area so I can't recommend any specific halls that allow you to bring your own food but  I hope this helps a little.

    How north are you? I live near Dayton but still even further north, lol... I definitely agree with PP, VFWs, Eagles, Moose? My budget is half of yours and I was looking at places up to a $1000 but there were many that were less, so you should be in pretty good shape. I think I deleted all my hall info because I finally settled on one! It can be difficult to find some place that allows you to be very DIY, but they are out there! I am going to try and look some stuff up real quick tho, lol. 


    ETA: A few ideas... Benham's Grove, which is in Centerville.
     Arbor Hall, which is in Dayton.
     Legacy Center, in Xenia (Not sure about DIY catering, but it's gorgeous and I like it, lol)
    The Christopher Club, in Dayton
    Kossuth Banquet Hall, also Dayton
    I know I have seen a lot on here about any of the five rivers metro parks, cox arboretum and Carrilon Park. Let me know if you are further northward. Trying to stay close to Dayton since I don't know where you are exactly

    I'm pretty sure Benham's Grove, Cox Arboretum, and Carillon would all be over budget for you.

    Arbor Hall is nice, we looked at it for our reception. The rental is around 1k but then you can bring in any vendors that you want. Another suggestion is the Presidential Banquet Center. You have to use their food and drinks, but they were actually really budget friendly and I think it could easily fit in your budget.

    Cox would be great for your ceremony bugdet, $300 for the space, and then ~$300 for chairs (if you do what I am doing Prime Time's folding chairs they are setting up and taking away too). You really should look then up north near poe ave in vandalia though for the IBEW Local 82, they have a good reception area and have a catering menu that was pretty good.

    For a hall- Conover hall off 73 in Franklin lets you bring your own food and the price is not bad at all.  Cox is WAY over priced yes it is nice but I just called them and it is nuts how much they charge.  This is my 2nd wedding and I have already planned a wedding in the area so let me know if you need help!

    You have about double of what we are planning on spending ;)

    I second Benham's Grove in Centerville. The Location is beautiful, Sally is amazing and very flexible. You can do your own catering, own decorations and everything.
    And the rental is very reasonable.
    We were planning on going with them originally, but we decided to go with the Beckett Ridge Golf club in West Chester instead.
    I just decided that I rather not to all the decorations myself, I will probably be flustered enough on my wedding day. Not to mention taking it all back down.
    Beckett Ridge does it all for you.
    But I definitely recomment checking out Benham's Grove.
