I'm doing a candy buffet also and I'm doing small favors (little topiary trees that double as placecard holders/note holders/picture holders after), but it's entirely up to you if you want to have favors or call your candy buffet your favor!  I liked the topiaries, they fit with my theme, they added decoration to the tables, and they were inexpensive on ebay, so that's why I did them.

It helps to think about the theme or general feel of your wedding.  Is it fall and you're using golds and browns and such? Maybe you can do small maple syrup containers or leaf-shaped candles.  If it's vineyard-y do wine bottle stoppers, etc.  Websites like Oriental Trading Company and Koyal Wholesale have a lot of different wedding favor options you can browse.

I hope that helps a little!

We are doing a "donation in your honor" favors for our guests.  Unless it's food it seems like most guests never really take them so we're finding a charity to donate money to and then placing a card at each seat telling them where we've made the donation.  Hopefully no one thinks it's tacky but I saw it in a wedding mag and it seems like everyone there was on board.

I just saw great apothecary jars for a candy bar at Kirklands. I also have seen great jars at Steinmart. I have found good deals for my candy bar at candywearhouse.com, but I am also taking advantage of the valentines candy sales. Have fun!
