Nevada-Las Vegas

Chapel Help--Please!!

My fiance nd I just booked Vegas for November and we are getting married there, simply, just the two of us.

SInce it's only roughly 7 months away--YIKES!--I NEED to book a chapel asap.
I am so confused as to where to go. I have searched the web endlessly (we live in Boston) and read reviews everywhere. But I still can't weed out the cheap, cheesy ones from the nicer ones.

Believe me, I don't expect the whole pakage to be perfect. (We are looking at non-hotel chapels on the strip.)

We just want a nice simple, memorable wedding chapel that will give us GREAT professional pics (not ones that look like we took with our own camera).

So far the chapels I have looked at and considered are:

Little Chapel of the Flowers (looks great and great pics but add ons--which I would want-- can get $$$)

A Storybook/Graceland Chapel (loved the Elvis packages, cheesy yes, but fun! My fiancee saw some clips on youtube where you had to "participate" in the ceremony and now he's getting cold feet!)

Las Vegas Wedding Chapel (looks great but don't know of many people using that one so any reviews would be appreciated!)

A Special Memory

Little White Wedding Chapel

Basically pictures are the MOST important to me, b/c in the end that's really all you have to look at everyday and remember the day.

Please, girls any help will be appreciated!! Thank u!!

Also check out Little Chapel of the West. I scouted a few chapels and personally I think Chapel of Flowers is the best looking.

I'm getting married in Sept in Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel if that is one you are talking about.  I had a hard time too trying to find what I wanted online.  It's so hard to tell from pics!  All of the hotel chapels look beautiful, but are out of our budget.  Anyway, I thought their outdoor garden (at nite) looked great, I didn't really care for the look of the gazebo, but that's just me.  Most chapels have archives where you can view previous weddings to get a better look at the chapel.

As for pics I would look into a strip tour with an outside photographer separate from your chapel.  From what everyone says it kinda seems the photos that come with the chapel package are just standard and can be pretty pricey!  Look at the "explanation of the board" sticky at the top of this board for the list of different photographers.  I think you will find most girls are using Mike L, Bentley & Wilson etc...  HTH!  Good luck & any info you need you will be able to find on this board.  Everyone is super helpful and full of great ideas!

I am using Chapel of Flowers and yes, the photo add-ons are expensive. I think they bank on you just biting the bullet and buying the CD.  They will not allow outside photographers in which is a pain. Maybe look at Bently&Wilson, etc and get professional phoos taken before/after the ceremony? I have to admit that for of all the chapels I looked at, the photography style always seems slightly twee and posed.

elleninalabama--omg. I didn't even think of hiring an outside photog at all!

I just checked out Bently and a two hr package is very reasonable--way less than what any of the chapels add ons run for. Plus I don't want to get pressured to buy pics at the chapel just because we are short on time etc

I think that's an excellent idea. Love their pics too! Maybe we will go with the barest bones chapel ceremony and then get the pics privately afterwards.

Thanks for the help so far everyone!! It is MUCH appreciated.

dani--Really? We are staying at Treasure Island!

Are you having guests or is just the two of you?

I think if we were having guests and entertaining them afterwards, I would have definitely done a hotel chapel.

    Disneyfan,

I think it's what most people are doing.  Like PP said the chapels won't allow outside photographers so the ceremony pics will have to come from them.  Just a word of advise, book your photographer early!  I tried to get Bentley & Wilson for a 2hr strip tour 2mos ago for my Sept 2010 wedding and they were already booked!  After that, I quickly booked with Mike L!  I really liked his pics too and they have been awesome to work with.  They are super prompt with response to any questions I have and we were able to send them a deposit to hold our date!

I am using Chapel of the Flowers and have Bentley & Wilson booked for 3 hour photo tour for after the ceremony. COF has been great to work with, very professional and accommodating.

we are having about 25-30 ppl. we are having the ceremony at TI and then a dinner party at Canaletto across the street at Venetian. They have been great at the restaurant.  we arent getting married until december, so i havent had much contact with treasure island since i booked it, but their prices are great and the location is central strip!

Chapel of the Flowers is fantastic and the grounds are gorgeous. Their photography is also amazing. When you get to Vegas please stop in and look around. Also, while you're there ask to see examples of their photography. You can also see examples on their website if you go to view a wedding because some couples opt to have them posted online.

I used A Special Memory. They offer free transportation to and from your hotel and have the newest limos on the strip. They also allow you to bring in your own flowers, if you would like something different than what is included in your package and would like to try to save some money. They just remodeled their smaller chapel and it is absolutely gorgeous! They only charged me $100 to bring in my own photographer while other chapels wanted to charge upwords of $500. To me they were the most flexible out of all of the chapels I called. You can also download a 20% off coupon at the link below.... with the coupon we basically got to bring in an outside photog for free.
