Workout Accountability: Thursday

I did it and got off my butt and went to the gym last night!  I ran a 5K.  I'm really competitive so I was a little bummed when my time was 10 more seconds than I'd hoped.  Not too shabby for not running for almost a week.  I ended the workout with some stretching and abs.  I'm hoping to get back to the gym tonight for another quick run and some arms.

How did all of you ladies do?

    Headed out to the gym in about a half hour to get in some cardio and do some arms. :)

  • Woop Woop!! You go Ibarr! That is such a good feeling!! Even though it was 10 seconds longer than projected that's still awesome, and you have time to shave off those ten seconds! Give yourself a good pat on the back!

    Last night hubby and I went to a mid-week church service that was good but, lasted 45 mins longer than I was expecting... we didnt get home till 9 o'clock and consequently didnt get a work out in. But after hitting the snooze button twice this morning, we were able to roll out of bed around 5:30 ...(I cant believe it either to be honest) and run probably a mile and a half. Not as far as I wanted... but he insisted on taking our dog with us so she could get some exercise before we locked her up all day... only problem was she was lagging behind, and we eventualy just headed back to the apartment as opposed to dragging her further... but I was proud of her, she kept up pretty good for a little thing.

    In any case, I am starting to get the hang of this early morning work out business... and to be honest, I feel more awake by the time I head to work every morning. The real test will be next week when the hubby is gone for a work training and not there to convince me to get out of bed... here is hoping I can stick with it!!
  • Wow brianna!  I would struggle to get up early to work out.  I get up around that time anyways to catch a train but regardless I'm in a fog until, well, now.  I'm hoping one day I will have a short commute so I can just work out in the am and not have to try and muster the energry at 7pm.  Keep up the good work!
  • Last night I did 30 day shred, then my friend called to go to Zumba with her. My legs hurt A LOT today! But it's a good feeling.

    Tonight I am hoping to do some free weights, or another level of 30 day.

  • I am still sick :(  I might try to run Saturday but I'll likely shorten my distance a bit & ease into it.

    Today I went to spin class during my lunch hour.  What a tough intense class it was and I love it!  Tonight

    How does everyone avoid the after workout munchies?  I signed up to my fitness pal and tracking everything but I feel like I am always starving an hour after I eat my lunch. :(
  • Ugh I can relate to that one. I feel like general consensus is if your hungry... and you've been drinking water so your body isnt confusing thirst with hunger.. then you should eat something. I try to keep it healthy like fruits or veggies. Or if you feel like you need carbs to fill up your stomach I have been known to eating whole grain crackers with some organic humus for flavor. But always watch portions. It's about discipline, not negligence... listen to the ques your body is sending you and go from there.
  • firefly- I have to ditto brianna on that one.  I try and keep healthy stuff to snack on.  FI loves the junky stuff and keeps some around which is tough.  Many might disagree, but I am of the opinion that it is OK to have a few of the bad things every now and again as long as it doesn't become an everyday habbit.  Do your best to promote healthy snacking with veggies, fruits, etc.  GL!

    medic-  Still sick huh?  That stinks!  I hope you feel better very soon!
  • I need to get in here and stay motivated.  I went to the gym Tues, Wed, and I'll go tonight.  Usually run for a bit, then do some strength training, then biking for half an hour.  My biggest issue is the food though. :(

  • I didn't do anything yesterday, but I did 5 miles on the track today. Ran the first 2, walked 3 after that. Not too shabby, right?
  • Finally back into my diet/workout routine after being away for Thanksgiving. Zumba this morning... back to running tomorrow!
  • Thanks Brianna and Ibarr I will have to stock up on more fruits and veggies to see if that helps.  I have been trying so hard to get to the gym every day on my lunch hour and trying to restric everything to much I think.  I guess I am just scared that my dress won't fit for my fitting right after Christmas.  Ughh
  • I'm a newbie runner and ran 1mi. Not the greatest but it's only Day 2 AND it was an "off day" for me (C25k). :)
