Thinking about Creighton. Questions

Hello Ladies!
I have been doing STM for about five months now and I have been thinking about switching to Creighton. The biggest problem is that the closest teacher is two hours away from me. I've heard that you can learn via skype, has anyone on here done that? Also, with the birth control mandate (:-/) would it be possible to get insurance to pay for the consult sessions? How does that work?

    I'm doing Creighton - although I've been meeting with my teacher in person.  I think it would be possible to do via Skype and possibly scanning/emailing a copy of your chart to the teacher beforehand, so you can look through it together.  I'd contact the closest teacher to see if that would be a possibility for him/her.

    As far as insurance, you might need to just contact your company to see what they'll cover.  They'd be able to tell you what your plan covers, and what you need to submit for reimbursement if your plan does cover NFP training.

    I don't know whereabouts in VA you are, but I can ask my teacher if she knows of any Creighton teachers in your area.  She's located in NOVA, but I wouldn't be surprised if she (or another Creighton person she knows) knows of someone near you.  Not all instructors are listed on the fertility care site (mine isn't, for example).  If you're interested, just PM me your general location and I will see what I can do :)

    I'm curious what makes you want to switch from STM to Creighton? We went to STM classes and that's what we plan to use.

    If your insurance doesn't cover it (it's worth checking)... the fees can usually be adjusted on a sliding scale depending on income level.  I know ours was cut to less than half since our combined income levels weren't very high when we took the course!  I'm guessing that since you're a med student (-: that you would definitely qualify for either a reduced fee or scholarship...

    Sigma, I've noticed a few abnormalities with my charts so I want to see a Creighton/NaPro doctor to get them checked out. Plus if I like it I may consider becoming Creighton certified myself since I live in an underserved area!
