Too skimpy?

So I'm having a hard time finding a dress for my shower.  I bought one from DB and it's too big and I hate it.  I like this one...but is it too skimpy?  Keep in mind I am 4'11" with a bigger chest for my size so I have to always order a Small in their dresses.  Honest opinions please!

Re: Too skimpy?

  • It's a bit-form fitting. I think if you had a shrug or jacket or something over the shoulders it might be okay but as is I vote a bit too skimpy.

I dunno maybe it's just the way the model is standing lol

  • If I had the body for that, I would totally wear it! I like acaponi's idea of wearing a shrug. One of those cream colored knit ones would look so cute! I don't think it is too skimpy. VS models always like to "sex up" their stuff.

  • I don't think it's too skimpy. I think it's pretty and you could do some bigger accessories
  • Well...just tried to add it to my bag and it was unavailable.  I figured even if it didn't work for the shower it would work for something else like a nice dinner on our honeymoon or something.  Maybe I'll check again in a few day.  Thanks for the input anyways.

It's your shower so I say wear it (if you can still buy it :/). You can wear it again on the honeymoon too!

  • Have you tried looking on 6pm.com? I got my rehearsal and shower dress from there. This is what I am wearing to my shower...

This is what I am wearing to the rehearsal, it's a satin material, not cotton so its somewhat dressy

  • At first I thought this was lingerie for the wedding night, so yah maybe a little skimpy :)

Damn, just tried to find a similar dress and it's also unavailable. Wth haha, good luck!
  • Sorry it's not available anymore, but I would say it was too skimpy for a shower anyway. I would go more for cute for showers.

  • I definitely think it's too skimpy and super sexy. I agree with Meg - I thought it was lingerie at first.

    Good luck finding something!!

Off topic, but I just had to say that your shower dress is super cute!

  • You didn't want that dress.  It screams 80s!  I guess if you don't remember the 80s, you don't mind that, but it says "Miami Vice" to me.

    Good riddance!

LOL. This seriously made me laugh at my desk. I've been trying to see this post for two hours but TK wouldn't let me see it until now. I knew it would be a good one.
  • I'd say that (for me anyway) since a lot of the guests are older ladies and my FI's family, if I have to ask if it's too skimpy - It's probably too skimpy. I'm definitely more on the conservative side, though.
  • Also- if you feel the need to ask if a dress is too skimpy.... it most likely is..... just sayin....
