I'm an afternoon sugar-needer. Just discovered the baskin robbins cookies n cream hard candies.
sugar free (i know-i'll worry about carcinogens later).
only thing low cal that has ever satisfied 3 pm cravings.
anyone else have a sweet snack they love that isn't terrible?
Re: PSA Sugar Fix
I am as of yesterday trying to really cut back on sugar - I know some people think it causes inflammation (I'm not sure how respected that idea is), and since I'm having trouble with tendinitis I'm up for anything that might help. I have grapes as my afternoon snack, but all I want is baked goods of some sort from the Starbucks next door.

So I've been on this "healthy skin diet" that consists of things like berries, spinach, sweet potatoes, etc. After a month, my skin cleared up so nicely. Finally this weekend I thought I would indulge since it was my sister's graduation and a friend's birthday. Yeah, my face is itchy and red. WTH. Sugar is not my friend :(
However, my favorite low-cal sugar treat is Fun Dip. The packs that are 1 sugar pack and 1 stick are only 50 calories, and on WW it's only 1 point.

100 calories sounds high... but I crave cake, cookies, ice cream, candy bars, etc. So that is as well behaved as I can get.
[QUOTE]I'm really trying to cut back on sugar because my dentist basically said it's destroying my teeth Yep, after 27 years of hearing that sugar rots your teeth, and countless fillings, it took a root canal to finally convince me to listen to those dentist people. Sugar does cause some problems with inflammation. Cutting back on sugar, high-fat meats, and other junk will help you heal faster. I know that sounds like a blanket statement, but it is especially true with tendinitis.
Foods/ drinks that have been fermented have been shown to be effective in helping alleviate inflammation, as well as pineapple, onions, garlic, and broccoli.
Has your physician given you some kind of stretch you can do to help alleviate the pain?
Edit: Oh! And turmeric is really good for relieving inflammation.
