To the Grand Canyon. LOL. I've lived in AZ my entire life, but have never been, so finally after almost 25 years, H and I are doing a quick trip to the Grand Canyon on Saturday.
It made me think that a lot of people don't go to the major tourist draws in their home state - my friend's mom has lived in Jersey her whole life, about an hour outside Manhatten and has never seen the Statue of Liberty.
So, is there any big tourist area in your state that you've never seen??
Re: I'm finally going
I don't think I have a place that I've never been to, but I am one of those weird CFL people that don't do the Disney thing. Like hardly at all. I'd much prefer Universal or Busch Gardens or even Sea World.

There really aren't any touristy things in Pittsburgh...I've been to most of the museums. I'm originally from Dayton, OH and there really aren't any touristy things there either. I think I need to get out of the midwest lol.

[QUOTE]Have fun at the grand canyon, hike it if you can! I'm planning to hike the canyon in April perhaps you might want to come back out and hike with Danish Man and I. Living in So Cal I rarely want to go to Disneyland even though everyone i know has annual passes or Hollywood and the Sunset Strip. Bleh!

H and I want to do the hike to Havasupai Falls eventually, but I'm not sure how far in advance those permits book up, since it's not technically part of the national park, but is on the indian reservation. We need to do some major hiking training before then though...

Danish Man has done that hike with his father. Danish Man, his father and I have done the rim to rim hike it was INSANE, 19 miles we started at 6 am and finished at 7 pm. But bragging rights rule.

<div>Keep me updated on your plans, too! I have also never been to the Grand Canyon! I've lived here for 3 1/2 years, and should be here for at least 3 more, so I know I'll get there eventually. </div><div>
</div><div>Growing up, I got to go Niagara Falls several times. I think it's awesome and worth a trip.</div>
Still here and still fabulous!

This! I've never been to the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building and I've been an hour from NYC my whole life! I only go to the city 2, maybe 3 times a year anyway. BF and I were going to go Monday but it was too expensive, lol.
VA touristy things though like Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, Shenandoah Park, Natural Bridge, etc. I've never seen those. I'm going to plan some trips to those places soon though so that I can take Little Bean.

[QUOTE]lol that's crazy! I know a lot of people like that up in the NY/NJ area that have never been to the major sights. I was just in Florida and did Disney and Sea World. Sea World was way better. I didn't really like the rides at Disney, and all the strollers and kids annoyed me. Yes I should have expected it, but I didn't think it would be THAT bad. If I never see another stroller in my life I will die a happy woman, and going to Disney has made me seriously re-think having children.<div>
</div><div>As for the OP, I think I've done all the touristy things my hometown has to offer that I'd actually enjoy. There's a few things I haven't done that don't sound all that great, which is probably why I haven't done them.</div>
