May 2012 Weddings

Incase of rain...

what are your plans? Being this is New England, and any time we go on holiday, it rains. Aside from an umbrella, are you planning something different with footwear? I know we would still take pictures outside, but I don't want to ruin my pretty shoes. I looked at maybe getting a pair of Wellies in a pretty color, but I'd never wear them again. J Crew outlet has these cute rainy day flats that I would wear again...

I'm not going to let some rain ruin our day, I just want to be prepared.

What are you ladies doing?

Re: Incase of rain...

  • I'll probably just wear my rainboots out to the limo and super-lift the dress (should make for some awful pictures, lol), and then put on my shoes when we get to the ceremony. Also, the week of, if it looks like rain, I might order huge black and white umbrellas for us from amazon (w/2 day shipping); I've heard they make for cute pictures.

Also, cloudy skies are great for photographs, so there's always that!

  • You just reminded me to order rain boots. It's supposed to rain on my day.

  • I was thinking of ordering super cute rainboots, just in case, and I think those would be cute pictures! I was also considering wear a "spare" pair of stillettos for pictures just in case the ground is muddy :)
  • No backup plan for the feet other then changing the picture plans to stay off the grass, but the ceremony is inside so I iwll probably drive up the hill anyways. We did get gorgeous big umbrellas.

  • No plans for rain although I am sure we should have some since our wedding is outside. Shoes wont be an issue because I am wearing cowboy boots so I am not afraid to get them a little wet. I think I'll look into umbrellas for everyone or maybe I'll just buy rain panchos Wink haha

  • I had only thought about bringing an umbrella, but now I'm thinking wellies just incase. I already have a pair and as goofy as they look, I've actually seen a few pictures of brides wearing them and it can make for some really cute pics. I also picked up a pair of "Sole Mates" from my bridal salon. The are protective caps that fit onto your heels to protect them when walking outside in the grass or dirt. That might be helpful in the rain if the ground gets soggy.
