After Wedding Reception Ideas

Our reception should end around 10:00 p.m., in Vegas the night will still be young. Any ideas for things to do after the reception? Paris has a great piano bar, we considered going there. There's a Toby Keith's on the strip with some pretty good live music (but not everyone likes country music), we're in our mid 40's so a club is out for us.

Any ideas? We're locals but haven't lived here long.

I think it depends on where your reception/hotel is at.  I'm in my 30s and some of my favorite places to go our the lounges here are some of my favorites:

    - The Orchid Lounge at Mandalay Bay - they have live bands and cover bands..it's awesome..there is ALWAYS a crowd here.

    - Eyecandy lounge at Mandalay Bay

    - Times Square Bar at NYNY - there are dueling pianos and it is a great time!

    - Rhumbar at Mirage - they have a DJ, but it's more relaxed and for sitting around and talking

    - Peppermill off the strip - it's super cozy and cool..

Our reception is just west of the strip on Sahara. Since we'll be drinking we'll be cabbing it so I'd prefer strip area. We're staying at Palazzo and have guests spread out up and down the strip. Live music would be good, cover bands are good. What kind of crowd at Mandalay?

We went to the piano bar in NY NY (where we had our in-suite reception) and had a fantastic time. I ended up keeping my dress on and we all had a blast. I dont know much about the piano bar in Paris, but if it's anything like the one in NY NY I would definitely recommend it!

The orchid lounge at MB, is it opened or an enclosed bar? I have seen some of the opened bars allow younger kids. When I say open, I mean that you can see and hear everything while walking through the casino. We will have a few teenagers attending I would love to be able to find somewhere fun that we can all go and dance after the reception while the adults can still drink! Any advice?

I'm looking for somewhere like this to, although i dont want to dance just to hang out for an hour. I'll have an 17 year old and 20 year old in my group, if anyone has any advice on somewhere like this to go after dinner that would be great. We're having our meal in the Venetian and all staying at Cosmo/Aria//Vdara so somewhere between these would be ideal. Thanks for any recommendations.

The crowd at the orchid bar is mixed - thirties, fourties, fifties, etc. Ocassionnally you see younger people in there, because the band is so good. But it is DEFINITELY not the same type of crowd that goes to the clubs.  You can look at the band schedule here: http://www.mandalaybay.com/entertainment/lounges/orchid-lounge/

As for kids, no, i'm 98% sure kids are not allowed in lounge. The only places I can think that kids would be allowed in are restaurant/bars - so senor frogs at TI would be good, ri ra at mandalay, cabo wabo, ummm..i'm stuck.

There is a new place in the Venetian called the bourbon room. Everyone I have talked to loves it, they have VJ that plays all 80s, 90s rock.

Scouted out Rhumbar yesterday, looks like it could work, bride is worried that it might be a bit cold since most of the seating is outside. Also scouted out Palazzo (we're staying here) and Venetian, The Bourbon Room looks like it might be perfect!

Bourbon Room is great! We were there a couple weeks ago. Fun times and great music. Drinks are pricey, but that's Vegas.

Yea I was scouting out the prices and they're average for around here. Although I was looking at their bottle prices and they're not too bad (comapred to other places). By the time we get there I think we'll pretty much be liquor'd up so maybe a manhattan or two will do the trick.
