We needed to guarantee 200 people for the ballroom of the hotel we are using for our reception. My family left me pretty disappointed with a ridiculous amount of no's putting us way under the minimum at the last minute.
We only have 182 people. With feeding our dj and photographer that leaves 16 plates we are paying for and not actually utilizing. I had asked if we could just pay for the food and not the alcohol charge for those because our vendors aren't drinking and clearly none of the extra 16 are haha. Not only did they do the lower cost for the vendors (which I expected) but she charged us for kids chicken finger meals for the other 16!! That saved us over $40 per plate!! That's over $650! I went from freaking out about how short we were financially to feeling much, much better. I am now officially in love with my venue coordinator. I hope my FI doesn't mind haha!
