Hey ladies. I have decided that's its time to come back to the board. I have lurked long enough and I only have a little over two months to go. There are several things that I have not done. I need to order invites, find someone to sing, select songs, finalize the menu, edit guest list, and the list could go on. I never thought planning a wedding would be so hard. Working full-time, going to grad school full-time, and wedding planning is pushing me close to the edge. I need all the help and support I can get and that's why I came back to you ladies.

So happy to be back on board. Running off to check my overdue checklist SMH!

    I am RIGHT there with you girl... I'm 90 items overdue... LOL

    I tried this yesterday and it worked: Deep breaths and just try to complete at least one thing a day! :)

    I know.... wedding planning can get overwhelming and very stressful but like Amber said, just take it one day at a time. Try and set weekly goals for yourself and do something every day. That way, it doesn't seem that overwhelming.Good Luck! It would all work out.

    Don't forget to have fun while doing it even though it's not that easy to do:)

    Oh I am the QUEEN of being behind....

    I have less than 7 months to go and I dont even have a venue!

    I havent done anything else because of this either. I am TERRIFIED to see how many items I have overdue...

    Take a deep breath... relax. Things will get done when you get there. If its late, so what. There is no sense stressing yourself when there is so much to do. Make your own timeline and plan it with your finances. Sometimes the timelines on here dont go with your finance timeline, so thats when things go overdue. I would say make the guest list and get the invites out first, and start calling people asap to get your rsvp's. The other things aren't as urgent as this. GL

    I hear you!! I just told FI last night I am starting to feel nervous.  We have 6 months to go, invites to order, honeymoon to plan, colors to select (this has given me the biggest headache!!!), tasting, cake design, and some other stuff.  I think my biggest source of anxiety is the money!!!!  Let's all do this together BREATHE!!!!  Again, BREATHE!  Everything will get done.

    Thanks ladies. I knew you guys would bring my anxiety level down. Everyone else questions me everyday about my progress which just pisses me off. Its nice to have a group of people that know exactly what you're going through at the same time

    I know exactly what you mean.  About 4 months ago, I started to fall behind on everything and just couldn't get motbiated to do another thing concerning the wedding.  I had lots of job-related work to do, community service projects, and two book projects and journal articles to write.  I was in a writing groove and started to resent all of the wedding stuff, wishing I had followed my first mind and gone to an island for nuptials and relaxation.  Finally, I decided to get help.  I asked a soror who is an event planner to handle all of the reception stuff (decor, seating, etc.).  FI jandled the rehearsal dinner; a friend from church handled all of the church related tasks.  I had one bridesmaid hire a graphic designer to do the place cards and table numbers.  My MOH helped me with wedding party gifts.  The key is to be the manager of the wedding rather than the worker bee.  Delegate.  In short, I caught up in record time.  With 12 days to go until the wedding day, FI will take all of the reception items to the venue next week and I will drop off all of the church items this coming Sunday to the rectory (parish house) and do the final meeting with the florist.  I get to finish one journal article next week, welcome my family and friends, and gear up for an exciting day.  Moral of the story: delegate, delegate, delegate.
