What hotel(s) are you suggesting....

If you are blocking hotel rooms.....will the hotel be near the ceremony location or near the reception location (if different)?
I'm thinking I should look near my church.... hmmmmm

Re: What hotel(s) are you suggesting....

  • We blocked hotel rooms near our reception venue since most people would be staying the night of the wedding and going to the hotel after the reception.

  • I blocked rooms at a hotel by our reception venue. We are providing a bus from the hotel to the reception, so it made sense for us to block rooms around the reception.

  • We blocked rooms in our hometown (Wallingford). The ceremony and reception were in Portland but we had many people from out of state who wanted to be near us. If you want guests near either the ceremony location or reception I think it's better to do near the reception (esp. if it's late at night). Guests might be too tired after the reception and not want to travel far.

  • Reception venue :)
  • Fortunately our church and reception venue are within 20 minutes of each other so the hotel was near both. I do think it is better for the hotel to be near the reception since after a night of wedding festivities I wouldn't want to drive too far to the hotel.
