Woodwinds????

My fiance and I recently looked at the Woodwinds and we're thinking of booking with them for August of 2013, but before we do I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their experience??  How is it working with them? If you already had your wedding, how did it go? Is the food really as good as they say it is? Did the fact that they have two weddings at the same time negatively impact your event??  I'd really just like any info you have. lol  My fiance and I have been engaged for 5 months, and have looked at several venues...this was the first one we liked.  To be honest I was starting to think we wouldn't find a place and all I want is to set a date and get the ball rolling!!! So, I'm not sure if we're jumping the gun by booking with the first place we saw that wasnt just a huge parking lot with a little patch of grass and a gazeebo!  Pictures can be sooooo deceiving!  Aaaahhh I'm just so confused.

I should also mention that we plan on paying for the wedding in its entirety upfront when we book the date (in an attempt to maybe get a deal and just to cut down on later stress....so there's no turning back once we commit to a date.  At the same time we cant really dilly dally when it comes to finding/booking a place because 2013 Saturdays are going quick (Woodwinds didn't have any Saturday evenings left in June!!!!!)  Since, we dont have a whole lot of time to "sleep on it" I could really really use your advice!!!  Please help :/

Re: Woodwinds????

  • We are having our reception at Woodwinds May 2013.  FI and I booked it on the spot!  I have heard nothing but great and positive thiings about the food...from receptions to retirement parties and other gatherings.  Woodwinds also had a 'tasting' back in  February...the food was delicious!  FI and I were very pleased.  I've been told Woodwinds may stagger the two receptions to avoid bumping into each other.  Sarah at Woodwinds is very helpful and professional.  Whenever I email her a question or concern...she replys back with an answer in a timely manner.

We mainly chose Woodwinds because of their grounds.....BEAUTIFUL!  We are having the ceremony at our church and FI didn't want to go to a park or somewhere for pictures.
    Call for a tour....
    Good luck!

  • I am getting married at Woodwinds on June 30th.  Woodwinds was the only venue we looked at and as soon as we left we decided that's where we wanted to get married.  The food is delicious.  I've had it at the bridal fair the last 2 years as well as the food tasting at Cafe Allegre.  Our DJ and photographer also rave about the food.  We love the grounds and are getting married in front of the waterfall.  Sarah and JoAnna have also been very helpful and respond in a timely manner and although I haven't met Scott (the DOC) yet, I've heard he's prepared for anything and everything.  Everything at Woodwinds has been wonderful so far and we have been working with them for over a year now planning our wedding.
  • We are getting married at The Woodwinds on June 8 and we couldn't be any happier!  The staff have been so nice to us thus far and very professional.  I also went to the bridal show and the food was amazing.  The Woodwinds just sent us a gift certificate for their restaurant, Cafe Allegre, good for two free entrees and dinner salads and FI and I can't wait to go.  I know they do stagger the weddings by 30 minutes - an hour I believe, but if you book early, you will most likely get to choose what time you want your event to start before having to work around someone else's schedule.
Also, whenever I tell anyone I am getting married at The Woodwinds, they tell me they've been to weddings there and had a great time and loved the food.  I've never heard a bad thing about the woodwinds.

  • Abeja...we used our tasting certificate for our "valentine's" dinner.  It was sooooooo good!  If you want to try one of your entrees and it's not on the menu just mention it and they will probably make it.  They did for us.

We are having our reception there in April of next year and so far have only good things to say about Woodwinds. They have been super great to work with so far and very responsive when I have questions. All of the vendors we have been working with too have nothing but good things to say about them. So no complaints here :)
