FI and I spent Monday, Tuesday, and part of Wednesday driving from California to Minnesota... and we survived!!! I started looking at plane tickets in October and to fly from Sacramento to Minneapolis never got cheaper than $500 per person round trip. We could not afford $1,000 right now for both of us to come, but it was important to FI and my family that he meet everyone before the wedding.
It was actually really enjoyable! We have road tirpped together before, from Minnesota to Arizon two summers ago, but that was when we were first starting to date and we were very much in that new-relationship-honeymoon phase. It's good to know that we still love each other enough to spend 2.5 days and 2,000 miles together in a car!
We even work together so well that we probably could have made it all the way to Minnesota without stopping to sleep once except I wanted Cody to meet my MOH (the one who will not be able to make it to the wedding) to get her approval. She approved and even told me she thought he was "really, really, REALLY cute!". Haha! Glad I'm getting approvals from everyone so far! And now we're at my Grandma's house. Cody met my Grandma two years ago when he first came to MN and I'm fairly certain my Grandma has a crush on him. Haha!
So... Merry Christmas everyone!!! Sorry to babble on but I'm sooooo happy that little trip worked out so well. Now to head back in two weeks with just as much success!

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.
