Am I planning to soon?

Our wedding isnt for 2 years and I've thrown myself into wedding planning. I have already booked my ceremony and reception and I've gotten in touch with florist and photographers. A bridesmaid of mine though has made comments that im jumping the gun and essential that im obsessing. So what I want to know is if I am planning to soon? I just want to be as prepared as possible but is she right....is it to soon?

    Honestly I think it is a good idea to meet with people and get ideas of how much everything will cost that way you can start saving. Our wedding is in a little under two years and we are going to go sign the contract for our ceremony/reception site tomorrow. Our wedding is also on a holiday so we need to get it booked before they give the date to someone else.

    I don't think it's too early for the big things like a venue or a photographer.  

    I would hold off on picking the WP, colors, flowers, BM attire, menu, etc.  A lot can happen in those 2 years.  Styles and trends change, new options become available.   

    You can start looking and getting ideas, just don't make any firm choices quite yet.   






    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    i think a year is good.. but do what you want i guess. i don't think you should have bridesmaids so soon tbh. anything can happen. :/

    I already chose my BMs, and to be honest I already regret asking one girl! I only asked her because she is my FI younger sister. She's turning into a really deisrespectful person, not towards me, but towards others. And I hate that!

    So choose wisely or just wait another year!

    I think it's always a good idea to take care of the big things asap.  Hats off to you!  But one thing I do know....DO NOT GET YOUR DRESS THIS YEAR!!  You don't wanna have buyer's remorse...trust me...

    Well thank you ladies for the advice. My fiancee and I have had to push back our date once already which is why I already have asked my bridesmaids to be in the wedding. Also he and I will be paying for most of the wedding ourselves so im trying to get what we can done sooner so I can get the better deals. We are cooling it with the wedding planning since having booked our venues now all we are doing is buying the paper products we need and things like that. Thank you again for the advice!!

    I would hold off on hiring a florist or anything has has to do with decor because you WILL change your mind - probably more than once (or in my case about 5 times) on the colours/decor scheme.
