We just had our wedding last weekend, were waiting to take our honeymoon, so I promised my mom I'd post up some reviews because we were all so so happy with some of our vendors. We had absolutely gorgeous weather for Michigan! Our wedding was small since a lot of our family is out of state. Since I live out of state now, we tried to keep things simple and elegant because my mom was in charge of the majority of the planning. I'm sooo happy with how everything turned out, I just wish it didn't fly by so quickly!
Dress/Attire - David's Bridal - A - I know they're not known for their customer service, but I was happy with the fact that they have so much more selection than a lot of shops I went to, and such a wide variety of prices. I ended up having to get a second dress very very last minute (I'm expecting!), and was able to get a beautiful one for a little over $200 which was great, since I'd already paid for the first dress plus alterations. My husband also loved the Marine Corps garter I got from there!!
Hair - Panopoulis in Byron Center - B+ They were great to work with, I could book the appointment for as early as 7, which was awesome because we had a morning wedding, and I loved my hair. My stylist was really sweet and very easy to work with. But my bridesmaids hair, although pretty, ended up looking the exact same as each other's when they had brought in pics of what they wanted and it didn't turn out like the pics really. Everybody still looked great I thought though.
Church - A+ - Grace Lutheran Church in Wyoming. I'm partial because my dad is the minister there, but its a lovely church and didn't need any decorations although we did do a little decorating. The coordinator, the lighting person and the organist all did a great job and took care of everything.
Flowers - Ball Park Floral - A+ : They were awesome!! My mom had gotten a quote from a different florist that was a little out of our price range, so she checked out Ball Park Floral, and they were extremely reasonable. Heidi went over and above, when she had ordered the tulips and they weren't the right shade, she ordered some from 5 other vendors to try to get the right ones. I got so many compliments (even from my husband, who couldn't care less about flowers) on how beautiful the flowers were. I was so impressed for how much we got for our money.
Photographers - 14th Street Studios out of Holland - A - I haven't seen the proofs yet obviously, but Marc was great to work with. He was very organized and creative with his shots, and we noticed that he was quick to come get candid shots at the right moments in the reception. He was also very flexible to work with.
Cake - Mirabella Confections - A++++ LOOOVED my cake!!! I'm not kidding, there's a bunch of pictures of me just staring at it, haha. It was gorgeous, better than I imagined and SOOO good. We had 3 different flavors, and I made sure to try all 3! My husband hates cake, and he even said that's the best cake he's ever eaten. We got so many compliments on it, people were saying it looked like an Ace of Cakes cake. I loved it!
Reception - McFadden's - A+ - Our wedding was smaller, so the Pearl Room was perfect. I loved it, it just totally fit what I've always pictured for our reception, classy with that old building kind of charm. Erin was great to work with, she was very quick to respond to any emails or questions I had prior to, and everything went really smoothly.
