Where did you get your bridesmaid dresses?

Looking for a place that has options for less than $200, and has a large selection since I am looking for a fairly specific color (indigo).  Please share your experience!

Re: Where did you get your bridesmaid dresses?

  • We found ours at The Wedding Chapel.  I thought that their selection was huge and we found a great dress for $120.

I will say...I thought that the shop was quite outdated and I didn't find their service to be great.  We were completely left alone to pick and try on whatever we wanted and the consultant just checked in with us at the end of our appointment time.  This worked for us, but I would imagine that some may want a more hands on consultant.  Also, when we picked up the dress this weekend, the employees were complaining about their jobs right behind the counter, where we all could here - I thought that was a turn off.

At the end of the day, though, we got a great dress, for a reasonable price, that came in on time, and in the right size and color so I probably can't really complain!
  • We got ours at jcrew. If they had a promotion (like 30% off entire site) it brings the prices down to 150-200. We had that for ours, which made it more reasonably priced.

Even though there wasn't a place to try on the dresses, jcrew stores (Maple Grove especially) were super awesome about doing free exchanges for different sizes, so the customer service aspect was also awesome.

Coincidentally we just got them this weekend at the Wedding Shoppe!   I had done quite a bit of research ahead of time so the whole process went very smoothly.   My party has 7 BM but I just took my 2 sisters and they tried on dresses for an hour or so and then we picked the one we thought would be best for everyone.  It was a good time!   But now I had to send all the information to the 5 others who live out of town and just hope that part isn't too stressful for them.

I forgot to mention that the dress we chose was $150 and there were so many colors to choose from I was able to choose the exact shade I wanted.  We are going with a Dessy dress in the shade of Aubergine.  I was very pleased with the selection and service.

  • Flutter boutique in Uptown.  Sharon was great to work with and our Amsale dresses are beautiful!
  • We got my MOH's dress at Dena Marie Bridal in Roseville. It was reasonably priced ($140) and we received decent service, although they had my phone number wrong in their system and didn't end up calling to say the dress was in until 3 week before the wedding!

  • I'm not a fan of DB's customer service, so I'm not requiring my BMs to get their dresses from there even though I got mine there and they'd get $20 off their dresses. My BMs will be wearing floor length, black dresses so not quite as specific of a color so I'll say that they can get their dresses anywhere as long as it's long, black and dressy.

  • My bridesmaids also got their dresses at Flutter Boutique.  I loved the selection and the customer service was fantastic.

  • We also went to the Wedding Chapel. I'd been there before as a BM and had a good experience there, plus they have a very large selection, and give you a discount if you pay in full. Our consultant, Cindy, was great - she got us started and let us pick stuff out on our own, but then would check in on us and give suggestions and answer our questions. We ended up with 5 different dresses (different style and shade of purple for each girl) and the prices ranged from $120-$180. And we ordered them at the end of December and 2 of them (the Mori Lee ones) came in two weeks ago already! :)
  • I had the challenging situation where my BMs were in 3 different states and none of them in the state that I was living in at the time.  I had one BM that was kinda picky about styles that would look good on her (she's pretty busty) so her & I went shopping first and found some that her & I agreed on.   I then went shopping with the 2 that lived in the same state and had them try on the ones I had picked out with the first one.   I didn't ever go shopping with one BM as I wasn't able to get to her state, but she has a pretty 'average' body type, so just about any style worked for her.  After everyone had tried the dresses on and we agreed on one, we ordered from NetBride.com.    They have a huge selection and their prices were $50 lower than I could find in any of the 4 states where we had people!   The dresses ended up being $114.   We had no issues with ordering or delivery of the dresses.... and I think the dresses came in about 8 wks.

  • Had really bad experiences with two out of the three very popuar names that you stated. I went to Pearls and Lace Bridal in Burnsville. Leisha is so fabulous to work with and so helpful that I can email anytime or call for help. I definitely suggest her.
  • We got ours at Angelique's in Blaine. We really liked them because they had really nice dresses well within our price range. The price of the dress we'd picked jumped between when the girls tried it on to when they ordered it and they even gave us the original price! They have a book of color swatches for each of the dresses so that you can see which colors your dresses can be ordered in-- it was really helpful.

  • I also went to The Wedding Chapel. I think srdavis21  may have had a bad consultant as I've only had good experiences. I have used The Wedding Chapel for my first wedding and am using them again the 2nd time around. They have a gorgeous selection of gowns and yes the location itself is VERY outdated! I do really like Diana and my MOH's mom went to highschool with her. She is a very sweet lady - the owner & head of alterations. I've used them for both wedding dress, both sets of BM dresses, FG dresses and even the formal wear (if you buy your bridal there, grooms tux rental is free and the groomsemen get discounts if your bridal party gets their dresses there as well.)

  • We got ours at The Wedding Shoppe.  Prior to getting BM dresses there I had heard some negative things about buying BM dresses there.  However, our experience was great.  We made appointments on week nights to look at dresses so it wasn't as busy and the sales people could really focus attention on helping us.  My BMs loved the dress (or so they said haha) and they weren't too expensive - $130.

  • Davids Bridal, the dress was $125 I think?  The customer service wasn't excellent (we went to the one in Maple Grove) but it was a Saturday and they were super busy, my friend went on a Tuesday and her service was excellent!
