I found this interesting since I'm one of those brides that doesn't want to change my name for professional reasons (that and I actually love my last name and am rather attached to it, lol).

    How did the students who were judging the emails know whether a woman was married or not?  Did she list her name as Jane Maiden MarriedLast?  Or Mrs. Jane MarriedLast?  I mean, I don't really put "Miss Rebecca LastName" on anything unless it specifically asks for a title.

    If you didn't know me, and I signed an email "Rebecca LastName", how would you know whether LastName was my married name or not?  I don't mean to get defensive, I just don't like skewed research results :-)
