I was reading my blog posted on April 2010 and remembering how stressed and convinced I was that I was not going to have the wedding I know I deserved. We were just out of college, working good jobs, but not balling by any means. We had given up on any hope of a "Taneya" type of wedding. We started making absurd cut-backs---I think at some point we decided we were going to have a back yard wedding with 20 people. Then we said, we'll just do the justice of the peace and go on a fabulous honeymoon. I'm proud that with 2 months until the big day we have pulled off the impossible. Our wedding is estimated at somewhere between $11,000-$13,000. Mostly out of our pockets!!! WOW, who would've thunk it!? God has been so good to us, we prayed that he just bless us in anyway he saw fit. We prayed many of nights that he bless us with the wedding that he wanted for us and it is going to be all of that and more! I was blessed with 2 jobs which is where the majority of our money came from. My FI takes care of all the bills and miscellaneous things that we need and want. Without him, I wouldn't be able to save the money that I have for this wedding. I am so grateful, thankful, and overwhelmed with joy! So to all the DIY--and by this I mean paying for it urself--couples, you CAN DO IT! Stay faithful and true to the love that God has blessed you with. Take this as a stepping stone to be used as a testimony to other brides!
