Engagement photo ideas?

So my fiance and I are looking for something/somewhere creative to take our engagement photos where they dont charge us to take pics there (because we have a small budget) but we cant think of nething interesting. Does anyone have any sugguestions of places or have any ideas?

    The beach is always nice, a local park, a city/industrial area.

    You should first think of what you want. For instance when you are looking at photography what locations are you drawn too. Then find something that will work for you.

    A modern couple isnt going to want to go to a barn and take photos.

    It would help to know where you are?

    I am in the virginia beach area... well we jus like the way rustic areas look. we really jus want to be different. even tho we live at the beach i do not want to take pics on the beach!

    We went to downtown Norfolk by Nauticus and the Pagoda restaurant over there and took pictures in that area. I wouldn't necessarily call it rustic though. I can't really think of any old barns around here, but I'm sure if you ask around, your friends will have ideas.
