Honeymoons?

Does anyone have their honeymoon booked yet? We've been looking in to this for a few months now. I'm really concerned about hurricane season and rainy months in places like Mexico and the Dominican Republic. We would like to go somewhere warm and with an all inclusive package though.

What are your thoughts? Where are you going?

We are planning on going to Sandals in St. Lucia.  We have always wanted to go there so we figured this is the perfect time.  We went to Jamaica in September which is hurricane season with no problems at all.

We booked our honeymoon in November. We are going to St. Lucia. October usually isn't as bad as August and September when it comes to rain (at least not in Florida).

For those of you going to St. Lucia, have you been there before?  We want to go to a place where the water is still warm.  We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel at the beginning of November, and the water was too cold in Cozumel for me to get in.  Jamaica of course was the warmest but we don't want to go there.  Any suggestions?

I haven't been there before.  I hear that it is beautiful though.  I know that you don't want to go to Jamaica but we loved it there and the water was like bath water.  We would go back there but we wanted to go some place new.  What about the Bahamas?

I HIGHLY recommend checking out CheapCaribbean.com. We booked an all inclusive vacation there to Cancun and it was a freakin' STEAL. It included airfare, and we added a few excursions, which are each discounted by 10% if you book online at the time of booking your vacation. There are always TONS of sales and discount codes. One nice thing they do too is that if it rains, they give you a discount code for $100 off your next vacation booked with them. It rained while we were in Cancun, so we hope to put our $100 towards our honeymoon (unless we can find a better code).

As for our honeymoon, we haven't booked it yet. We're waiting until CheapCaribbean starts offering sales for travelling in October (they're at June now). We're thinking about something tropical, maybe the Dominican.

Maybe we'll just book a trip, and hopefully the travel insurance will give me piece of mind in case the weather is really bad!! Sounds like you're all planning on going to tropical places in October!

We went to Cancun last February for my cousin's wedding so we may try the Dominican Republic this time. Has anyone been?

I am no help on anything carribean.  FI is not really a big fan of hot weather and does not like the ocean.

We are most likely going on a long weekend trip to Maine or Vermont right after the wedding. Then at some point we will be going to Florida to check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for a longer honeymoon.  Hopefully we will go during the winter or cooler months.

We had considered Maine but my FI wants to go somewhere warm. I've never been to Maine and hear it's amazing!

I have also heard that St. Lucia is amazing AND it is not in the hurricane "zone" and should be safe for that time of year.  I am dying to do Hawaii or San Fran/Napa/Sonoma but not sure if we can make either work with paying for most of the wedding.  St. Lucia is a close 3rd and may be the one we take.  Such a hard decision!

We're thinking about NY. Broadway shows, really awesome restaraunts and sightseeing. Neither of us has been and what better excuse? (he's from Florida, so a beach wouldn't be too exciting for him. I'm from Ohio so anywhere will be exciting for me.)

This is the part that my FI has been the most excited to plan. We haven't booked yet, but we're going to the Sandals Resort Grand Riviera.

Niagara Falls is a great idea! Check out Fallsview Casino or Seneca Niagara for a little gambling, Lundy's Lane and Clifton Hill for tourist-y goodness, historical fun at Fort Niagara, the excellent Niagara Wine Trail, and obviously Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist. I live just a jog away in Buffalo, NY. If you want to take a day or two down there (only 20 minutes), there's Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Shea's Theatre, Buffalo Science Museum, Buffalo Zoo, and the great little artsy villages in Elmwood and Allentown.

ILet me know if you want to chat! :) btw we're wedding date buddies-- 10/12/12.

Aruba, St. Lucia, Antigua are in the deep southern Caribbean and the ocean is warm year around.  There is no all adult resorts in Aruba but, they have beautiful beaches, casinos, night life and tons of shopping.

For St. Lucia it's know for being the Hawaii of the caribbean.  There is some resorts along with adventure, inactive volcanoe and smail rainforest along with great beaches and shopping.

Antigua is for beach lovers!  They 365 beaches that are pristne.  There is a little adventure, a small rainforest and some shopping.  Antigua was voted by Con d'Nes as the romantic island for 12 consectuive years.

Call me if you need some help 800-886-6201 ~ Jeannie.  I travel 9 times a year to experience the resorts.  I can give you first hand experence.  Best wishes!
