I finally booked a site for our reception.  :)

Also, I went to the farmer's market on my break and spoke the lady who sells flowers.  The bouquets are gorgeous.  She grows them all at her flower farm, and would sell them to me for $8/bouquet.  Each one containing about 15-20 beautiful flowers.  I told her my color choices and she said that would be very easy to work with and showed me some examples.

Down to almost a year left and finally making progress! :)

    Here's mine:

    1. Got rings engraved (horrible process, but it's done now).
    2. Began DIYing my table numbers (it's taking way longer than I thought - why did I decide to make this complicated?).
    3. Decided on design for escort cards.
    4. Finalized music for reception.
    5. Worked on playlist for rehearsal dinner music.
    6. Got all the family photos we need for display except one.
    7. RSVP count: 86 are ready to party; 10 are party-poopers; waiting on 60ish...they've got 2 weeks left!

Although it seems the wedding consumes my thoughts, I don't think I accomplished anything this week. Here's to the next one being more productive.

I had my bridal shower on Saturday, and am about half way done with the thank yous for that. Besides that, not too much else.

What a great idea! Can I ask which farmer's market you went too. I might do the same.

    - We changed our date to July 7, 2012. Long story but we're much happier with it.

    - Decided on our menu and bar package... just need to decide on apps now for cocktail hour.

    - "Finalized" our guest list (although it's early so it's just preliminary)

    - DJ and photog. booked and deposit down

    - Looked over cake designs

    - Set a date for e-pics (two Saturdays from now Laughing)

It was August 4, 2012. So it's not really too big of a deal, just a month earlier.

Well im currently hiding in the bathroom during my orientation because ive been having massive problems with my right eye/contact lens all day, so i thought i'd take a moment to update! Um, ive dont nothing all week lmao looked up some more possible venues online, watched 2 say yes to the dress marathons and decided for SURE that i want a lavender sash on my dress, not much else lol One thing i have figured out is a nice little list of all of the practical reasons why we should move our date one year sooner, a big reason being the name change... They keep impressing upon us the importance of networking, and i feel as if it would make more sense to be networking with my new name sooner rather than later, especially in a cut-throat profession like this one... And when i say cut-throat, i mean these students literally have razors in hand, ready to slice. Theyre intense and they mean business. Anybody have any ideas/thoughts/opinions/etc about that?

Lorna, you'll probably be "networking" right from the beginning of school, right?  My friend currently in law school did internships after 1L and 2L as well as a clerkship thing during 2L.  I think it's fairly common for women to use their maiden names at work if they've already started a career if you wanted to go that route.  But I'm sure plenty of women also switch it and as long as you sort of informally keep your maiden name around for a while and are aware that some people from early in your schooling/career know you as your maiden name, I don't think you'd have any trouble.  I plan on legally changing my name, but keeping my maiden name in circulation at work.

With all that said, I would definitely want to move up the wedding a year if I were you just to have it come faster!

Yes, based on EVERYTHING I've been hearing during orientation this week, I do believe you're right about this. It's all coming so fast! I just want to slow down and plan a wedding :) is that so much to ask, SU!?
