FG Dresses $50 or less?

Parents of our 2 FGs said they are comfortable with a budget of $50 or less for each dress.  Any suggestions of where I should look for these dresses?  I'd like to find a few options for them instead of giving them the burden of finding something themselves.  Thanks!

  • My niece wore an Easter dress from Target that was $20.

  • I was going to say Target, too. They have some really cute dresses that are really affordable.
  • WIth your wedding being in February, they should probably shop in January so that the kids don't grow out of their dresses.  There could be some Easter type dresses available in January or perhaps some white holiday dresses on clearance.

  • Very good advice so far. Skip bridal stores.  I found a couple places on line, not sure of the quality, but worth a look:  http://www.pinkprincess.com/flower-girl-dresses.html ; http://www.nancyaugust.com/flower-girl-dresses.html

We found our candlelighter dresses on sale at Macy's for $24, regularly $75.  As PP said, wait until closer to the wedding, I think we got those 3.5 months before the wedding, and are having to let the hem out on them.

I would check out JCP- they revamped and I really love their lookbooks currently, they might have some really lovely things for little girls!  And if you can, as PPs mentioned, wait until after Christmas for some sales :-)

  • Oh wow, thanks for all the great advice!  I had never thought about Target or Easter/First Communion dresses.  You guys rock.

  • Ours were from The Children's Place. The dress the parents and I liked was getting discontinued, so it went on sale from it's usual $30 to less than $20. Score! Like PP said, I looked at department store Easter dresses. We also did this for our ring bearer--I personally don't like the look of little boys in tuxedos so he had one of those pants-vest-shirt sets. Looked adorable, and totally age appropriate!
  • Gap kids or Gymboree. I recommend the outlet. My FG's dress was 25 from Gymboree Outlet. The key is to think outside of the box and to not search for "flower girl" dresses. Look for holiday dresses.

  • My friend brought her daughter's Easter dress from Kohl's for $20. With a coupon and her credit card discount it came to even less than that.

  • We bought from that pink princess website - someone else already posted the link.

I didn't see the dress with my own eyes yet, but my mom and the flower girl's family were all happy with it. I'm going to buy her a slip because in the picture where she has it on, it looks drab and should be poofier.

  • We're getting ours off Amazon.com. I'd recommend that or, if they want to try them on first, etc. Target or a department store.

  • I got my FG dress online at David's Bridal for $39.

  • I'm likely going to have to buy my FG dresses and I've been scouring Target, JCP, Macy's, etc.  I also signed up for zulily; they have kids deals all the time.  Costco had these AMAZING white dresses from Easter that are still there on clearance for like $7 but they're mostly 7-16 sizes.

My problem is that one of my flower girls will be in a toddler size and one in a 4-5 non-toddler size by my wedding,  They don't have to match perfectly, but they both must have really frilly dresses (they're the girliest girls ever).  That size split's made it hard!

  • Not sure what style you're going for, but I found my niece's dress (a yellow sundress) on Amazon for $15. They had lots of white options too.

I found adorable dresses for my flower girls for $35 each from this site. They have a pretty large selection in the $50 or less price range.

  • Try JcPenney around Feb-April.  That's when communion and Easter dresses are out.  Or David's Bridal may have clearance dresses (they also likely have 1-2 styles in your price range.)
