Quick Photography Pricing Question

Hey guys, I was actually married in Upstate NY a few years ago but live outside of Boston.  I have a friend who is getting married in the Boston area next year.  She is looking into different photographers and was asking what the "going rate" is for a great quality photographer. I realize there is probably a range, but any ballpark information would be great as I know prices can range from area to area. Thanks a million.  - Caitlin Eliza

    Unlimited hours coverage
    Photographer and second shooter
    Local engagement session (one to two hours) time and location to be determined
    Password protected online gallery
    10x10 15 spread flush-mount wedding album
    Disc of high-res images (wedding and engagement session) with print release

    I am paying $3,000 for a very similar package as jaime posted.  We are getting some prints as well but only have 8 hours of coverage but that's okay with me.

    We are paying 5k and it includes:
    8 hours coverage with two photographers and one lighting assistant
    Engagement Shoot
    2 parent's albums
    1 large album
    All photos on disc and website
    100 thank you cards
    Guestbook
    and some other stuff I can't remember right now :/

    Yeah it depends on what kind of a package your friend is looking for, but I would say anywhere from $2500-$5000 is very average.

    I got married in April and paid less than $1600 for just north of the city. I think I had 6 hours of shooting and had two photographers (one was comped, because the owner was 7 months pregnant, and wasn't expecting when I booked). I also had full rights of all the pictures and got $200 worth of free pictures and a wedding album. With the rights of the pictures, I'm going to make a photo album off shutterfly or mpixs for a lot cheaper for the parent albums :)

    We paid $2000 (her pricing has gone up a little bit for 2012 though)

    $1600 for 8 hrs of coverage, engagement shoot, all high-res images on a CD, online gallery.  Can't beat the price and she's awesome, too :)

    We paid 2,450 and it includes:

    engagement session with cd of all images
    unlimited wedding day coverage (so stoked up not having a limit)
    2 photographers
    cd of all images with reprint rights
    12x12 leather wedding album

    We scored a good deal because not long after our photographers price on this package went up to 3k.

    $2500 for unlimited coverage, engagement session, 2 photogs, double lighting, online gallery and all rights to every image on DVD.  We're using www.berryphotos.com and their style looks so much like photogs that charge twice as much!

    for a higher quality photographer, I'd say any where from 4K and up.

    all our edited photos on disc

    My photographer (www.aestelzer.com) has a bridal referral program, and one of my friends just booked her as well, so I'll be receiving either a huge canvas print, or a 200 print credit which is awesome!

    ( with rights to the photos and editing and touch ups on all photos on two dvds)
    - online photo slide show
    - online wedding picture gallery and photo print cards for guests given at wedding reception. 

    My photographers, Konrad and Piotr were so amazing! I love their modern style of photography. Their assistant, Monika is also a pro photographer too. She also did an amazing job.

    Could ladies please give names of your photographers.. I am in the overwhelmed state of trying to find an afforable photograher.  Looking for 2 photographers, 6-8 hours coverage, images on DVD and an album if not print credits.  Thanks everyone!
