Venue help

I grew up in Clinton but moved to Texas MANY years ago... I need the perfect spot and am open to ALL suggestions.

We're going with a sort of retro esque feel but sort of quietly so. We're HUGE music nerds and we both LOVE the outdoors, the pretty pretty outdoors. (See my pins for more stylistic info about us :) )

Connecticut wedding in January, probably NOT going to be an outdoor wedding.

So, what's your favorite venue in all of beautiful CT? Ready? Set? GO!

  • I love St. Clement's Castle (clicky) and I definitely think it could give you the old fashioned look.

    Welcome to the boards!
  • We got married at Mystic Seaport but I'd say that's more rustic than retro :)

    Good luck!!
  • New Haven Lawn Club?  They were my 2nd pick for a winter wedding....they have really neat art deco-esque chandeliers that might give you the retro feel that you like...not sure if it's too formal for your taste though?

I was thinking NHLC too.  My friend got married there in Dec. 2010 and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas.  It's got the black and white retro feel to it.  She even had us go for retro hair and makeup styles too.
  • Check out the Lace Factory in Deep River. I thunk it might be a place you like! The only issue is where you would get married. It would be in the same room as the reception or in a church. It is definitely a cool place and not too far from your home town!
  • Check out the Gershon Fox Ballroom. Definitely has an art deco feel to it.  My favorite venue, however, is my own, The Society Room.
