Ladies, I need your help! Pretty please :)

I have a homework assignment where I need to ask 10 people what they think nurses do. I was hoping I could get your help!

So, in your opinion (can be however long or short you like), what do nurses do?

TIA ladies! I appreciate it!

Nurses take temperatures, make phone calls to parents about hygiene and health concerns, tell you that you can't have water even after your procedure (I'm still mad she wouldn't let me have water even though the doctor said I could!), administer medicine, wear funking shoes, and come with all types of demeanors.

Nurses monitor vital signs, adminster medicine, follow the doctor's instructions, sit and listen when a patient is frustrated, give sponge baths, dress wounds, help with birthing babies, assist in surgeries, and hug people that get bad news.

While doctors may be responsible for actually making you 'all well', nurses are the people who follow through with the details.  I see doctors as being "big picture" fixers and nurses as the one's that deal with the details.  Does that make sense?

Nurse check vitals, change bedding, take the sugar coating off that the doctor's put on, the hug you when you get bad news, they get to know your loved ones as well as you do and they become part of your family!  They bring you Coke when the hospital only serves Shasta.  They bring you candy or cake because you are having a bad day.  Nurses are what got us through our time at the hospital and made everything comfortable for everyone.

<div>Yes, it totally makes sense. Actually, my prof was saying that while we all totally respect doctors for everything they do, nurses are the ones who are with the patients the most. And it's true when you stop and think about it. </div>

nurses are the detail people to me.  While the Dr. diagnoses and prescribes the nurse is the one that pays attentions to the little details like your comfort, your concerns, your families concerns and ultimately can make your overall experience better or worse.

Nurses are the front line people. They execute the doctors orders in most cases. They fill out paperwork, give FMLA papers, school notes, precriptions, and answer clinical questions when they can or consult the doctor when they can't. They are supervisors and managers; who not only manage a patient's health but other employees to make sure the patient is first priority. They can make or break a patient's treatment/recovery.

    Thank you thank you!

IMO they pretty much run the entire office.  Everything from appointments/calendars to billing to all the upfront work with patients.  I think the doctors diagnos and write perscriptions.

A doctors office is only as good as it's nursing staff!
