happy friday everyone

what's on tap for the weekend?
my mom is in town, so im pretty excited to spend some time with her.

Re: happy friday everyone

  • Happy Friday!  Not much in the works for us, we're supposed to be getting some bad weather from winter storm Gandolf (that's what weather.com is calling it) this weekend.  I wanted to get to the mall but that might not happen.
  • Mini date-night tonight. H and I are taking a 4-week theology of marriage class at church. This is week 2, then we're gabbing a drink with some friends who are in town. Then, tomorrow, I have a mom's group thing at church (again).

Our other project is to start babyproofing. :)

  • Happy Friday! I'm down 2.5 lbs this week! Yay for eating healthy!

We have date night tomorrow night - we're going to see a concert.

Then on Sunday after mass we are celebrating my grandfather's 92nd birthday! At some point Saturday I have to make dessert for the party.
  • Happy Friday, all!  We're also not too excited about the winter storm, either... I wish it were snow rather than this rainy/sleety/slushy junk that you can't do anything fun with.  We'll probably be hiding inside all weekend and working on resumes and cover letters for my husband's job hunt!
  • I'm hoping to finally get a handle on this house. We moved back in after our floors were done on Christmas Eve and I've been playing catch up ever since. Just once, I'd like to feel like every room is clean, even if it only lasts for 5 minutes. This house is so much bigger than the one we had in Texas and between PG exhaustion and my pelvis issues, I just can't get ahead of it. I'd like to take DS to the park this afternoon too. It's been raining here for days and he needs some outside time.

Seriously, what was that rain last night? I'm going to a play for my drama class, which I have mixed feelings about because of things I'll be missing and the fact that I have to write an essay for it. But then FI is visiting on Sunday, so I'm super excited for that.

  • We are double dating with my oldest daughter and her boyfriend on Saturday night.  We are going to dinner and a comedy club.  I want to get to know him better (I have never had a real conversation with him even though they have been dating for three years) as a proposal appears to be in the offing.

On Sunday, I need to get caught up as I have something going on almost every night next week with council and committee meetings and back to teaching on Thursday night.

  • My mom went home today and H is staying in Texas for work, so I'm on my own this weekend.  I have an open date with my sorority Big and Grandbig to go see Les Mis, so I might call them for that.  Otherwise I'm starting to feel much better than I had been, so I'll probably try to do a lot of housework.

My remediation class started today.  So far I like the kids, although I already had to throw one out for making an incredibly vulgar comment.  The good news was that just about every other kid was like, "Who says that?"  So I think it's going to be all right.  I'm going to fight to get these kids the ability to earn back the credit for the semester they failed.  They'd still be a credit short, but at least I'd have some kind of reward for them.

  • My weekend probably won't be too crazy.  Tonight I will go to the gym after work, but after that, I'm not sure.  I'm in the mood for a peaceful night in, but H will prob want to go do something.  Tomorrow night I'm getting together with my friend and some of her friends.  It should be fun, and I always enjoy meeting new people.  Sunday I have a baptism Mass to attend.  Following Mass will be a reception.  Not sure how many people I'll know, but I'll at least make a quick appearance.  Haven't picked up a gift yet, and not sure what to get them (twin girls).  Wish I had been more on top of things so I could have ordered a cute Catholic gift online, but maybe I'll be able to find something at the (somewhat) local Catholic shop.

  • We just got home from my DH's alma mater's basketball game.  Siena College vs. Canisius College.  Two Catholic Schools.  Canisius is also FILs alma mater so DH had to call to gloat when Siena won by a three point shot right at the buzzer.  It was a great game.
