Good photographer for small budget?

Hello everyone. I am in the process of planning a wedding in Denver for July 2011 and I need a photographer for 1k, hopefully much less. I was looking at websites like Studio Blue or Bella, which seem to offer quality for less, but after looking at reviews and other posts on here, I'm worried. :S

Any pointers would be really awesome. I'm also planning this from my grad school in Michigan, so I can't exactly meet up with photographers until very close to our date.

Thanks so much!

We ended up going with someone else, but I was considering Yellow Paddle Photography because ther prices are pretty low because they use student photographers. Their website says you can have 1 student for up to 8 hours for $700.

I also recommend looking at local universities for photography students. They need to build their portfolios, and are usually WAY less expensive than professionals. I would check on craigslist also. HTH!
