Funny (from Autumn's EEG)

The lady would come over the intercom and ask her questions. Some times she had to remember words (but couldn't because she would have a seizure from the strobe light.pinwheel) but toward the end the lady asked her how old she was- "5" and then who the president was.

Autumn was all "uuuhh" and the lady said "O..." and Autumn says "oh, Obama!"

The lady then tells us that most little kids say George Washington and Autumn says "that's just dumb. He was a long time ago"

    Also, the EEG confirmed the seizures and she started her medicine yesterday. Ethosuximide.

    Seizures should be gone in 3-4 weeks at most. For the first week she will feel tired, not hungry and have a stomachache. After the week those things should go away.

    She is a lot smarter than I was at her age. 

    I'm glad you have a confirmed diagnosis and know what to expect.  I hope she cruises through her week of side effects without any trouble.

    I was fine actually. I thought it was going to be way more...clinical? than it was. It was set up like a little bedroom and I got to lay in the bed with her. She had plenty of seizures there but it was just us, so it wasn't so bad.
