Would it be improper if along with a registry at one traditional store for the few things we need, we put a site up such as ourwishingwell.com or Traveler's Joy in order for those who would rather contribute monetary gifts to do so easier, and to feel that their gift is going towards something specific?

    You can't register or ask in any way for money.  It's considered extremely rude.

    Thanks ladies. I just needed to confirm that. We talked about it last night, and just figured to reigister for the couple of things we need, and if anyone asks, we'll just let them know we are mostly likely moving in a year or two, and will not be able to take much with us.
