Engagement Picture Site Recommendations?

Does anyone have ideas of engagement photo sites in the metro Detroit area? I'm from the area but my fiancee is not... We live in Chicago now, so he really isn't connected to Michigan outside of my family and our wedding.

I'm trying to find a fun place to do our photos, but I feel like all the obvious Detroit/Michigan landmarks would be more about me than about him... (For example, we're both big baseball fans but I don't want to take pictures at Comerica Park because he's not a Tigers fan...) Thanks in advance for the ideas!

    Hi :) do you already have a photographer in MI? What area of metro detroit are you thinking? There are lots of places downtown, or on belle isle (I love the fountain and the cool shots of the Detroit skyline). Or maybe greenfield village - I think they have an old school baseball area (like 1920s old school) plus tons of other buildings good for pics. Or maybe the DIA. I'm not sure the rules for taking pro pics at these places, though. A lot of the surrounding suburbs have great little parks with baseball diamonds. You could take pics on the field and then also some on the park (benches, play set). I live in Birmingham and we have the cutest parks.

    I was at Greenfield Village recently and people were getting their engagement pictures done. They have some beautiful grounds there with the lake and gardens. I would check it out.

    Thanks ladies! We're using Mike Staff for photos (in addition to DJ and videographer). Great ideas - I appreciate it! I like the idea of the baseball background without making it Tigers specific - that's something I would have never thought of!
