Any creative ideas?

This is kind of a strange problem...

So back at Christmas my mom got FI and I a set of toasting flutes to use at the reception, and now today, FI's mom also brought us a set.  Does anyone have any ideas of how I could incorporate both sets into the evening somehow?  I have thought about it and am stumped, but I would like to be able to do something with both of them even if it is untraditional.

Hmmm...could you have some where you're sitting, like with dinner, then have another set up where you cut your cake, and do another toast up there? That's my only thought, so far, and that's assuming you're doing a cake cutting!

Owen's idea seems like a good one. The first thing I thought of was using one flute from each set, one for you and the other for FI. Pretty untraditional but it's giving both sets the same importance...? I dunno I'm trying haha!
  • haha, Nati that was my first thought too, but I mentioned it to FMIL and she was like "no don't do that!"  She said that we didn't have to use the set, but I would like to.  We are doing a cake cutting so maybe we could use one there as well, that's a good idea!

  • I was thinking use one during toasts and one after the cake cutting as well.  :)

  • Would it be really noticeable if you hold one from the set FMIL gave you guys and your FI holds one that your mom gave?

Kate's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • k8888-they are pretty different looking so probably (I think they are even different heights).  The idea doens't bother me at all, but I don't think FMIL or my mom would go for it.

I just had a thought, you know how people always have bells or something like that to make the bride and groom kiss?  Would it be weird if I had one set of glasses set on a separate table and if people wanted us to kiss they would have to go clink those instead?  hmmm...might not work...too confusing maybe?
