Fairmont Copley OR State Room?????

I am having such a hard time choosing a venue for our wedding because BOTH of these venues are AMAZING!!! They are also very different, though. The Fairmont Copley Plaza has given us a better deal and appeals to my elegant, romantic side. But the State Room's view is BREATHtaking and appeals to my chic, modern side. Anyone been to weddings at these venues?? What is your take??

    I went to 2 weddings at each place 3 weeks apart.  My favorite by far hands down was the Fairmont Copley.  If we could have afforded it, it would have been our venue.  The staff there is incredible, the food was amazing, the room was stunning, there was just nothing bad to say about it.  I know my friends had great experiences planning their weddings there too.

    The state room was nice, don't get me wrong.  But it felt factory ish.  There were huge similarities in the weddings we went to, whereas at Copley it felt like they really tailored the wedding around my friends' tastes.  One had a very art deco, old Hollywood vibe wedding, and that was very apparent. The other had a very modern, very urban feel, and even with the design of the room, the Fairmont made it happen. 

    You can't go wrong at either place, but I know my friends had better experiences as brides at Fairmont.

    I would say Fairmont Copley, just because I've heard bad things about the State Room staff, and they really nickle and dime you for EVERYTHING. I know they can be hard to work with. But the view is amazing! I love the locaiton of Fairmont Copley, with the library and the park right there, you can get some amazing pics too!

    been to both for friends weddings and the fairmont was so much better! did not care for the staff at the state room at all. the view is pretty but the rooms at the fairmont are also amazing!

    The Fairmont is beautiful, and I had my heart set on it at first! Unfortunately, we had to cross it off the list because the Venetian Room - the area attached to the Oval Room for the cocktail hour - is pretty small. The wedding coordinator said that our guests could spill into the hall/lobby... and that was NOT okay with the fam. But we could have made it work, I think! The Grand Ballroom would probably not have this problem, anyway :)

    The space is lovely, and I'm sure you'd have an amazing experience there if you choose it! State Room is also stunning, though - either way, you can't go wrong, imo.
