Hi!
We braved the storm, and had our outdoor wedding, indoors, last Saturday, with over 20 cancellations from our out-of-town New Yorkers, the day before due to weather! All in all it was a perfect day, despite the rain, and it was all due to these STELLAR vendors.
1. Venue- BRIER CREEK COUNTRY CLUB in Raleigh. We were supposed to get married in their beautiful outdoor garden space, Jasmine Court, but it was all moved inside to the Grand Ballroom, flawlessly. Our reception was in the smaller ballroom called Palmer's Cove. You get what you pay for with Brier Creek, food was spectactular (filet mignon, or roast salmon) open bar with 5 signature drinks, staff was amazing, they did everything from place place cards, to arrange flowers! We didnt lift a finger and my family and I were amazingly pleased with everything they had to offer.
2. Flowers- VICTORIAN SEASONS in Apex. JoLynn was absolutely lovely. I took in pictures of what I wanted and she really came through with my vision. The bridesmaids bouquets were lush, and the arrangements for the centerpieces were beautiful. We ended up going a bit over budget, which she informed me, because I LOVE flowers, but it was worth it.
3. Cake- CINDA'S CREATIVE CAKES in Holly Springs. At Cinda's tastings, she gives you TWO 10 inch cakes to try and take home! She sketches your dream cake before your eyes. She did our grooms cake and our wedding cake. They are moist and beautiful, and everyone was raving about the chocolate chip cake with tirimisu filling. Wonderful to work with and very prompt.
4. Ceremony Musician: GARY MITCHELL in Chapel Hill. He is an accoustic guitarist and vocalist, and was one of the highlights of our ceremony. He sang and/or learned everything we asked. What an amazing talent. Even came to our rehearsal to sing through my MOH's song she sang at ceremony. Check out his website online.
5. Reception Band: SAVE THE DATE MUSIC (LARRY MARYNAC QUARTET) Awesome wedding band. 2 saxaphones, drums, keyboards, and vocals. Danced the night away to standards, oldies, beach music and motown. All my friends got to sing songs withthe band as well, which was awesome. So cheap! So cheap and so worth it!
6. Photography: LISHA MYERS PHOTOGRAPHY in Wake Forest. Cant say enough about Lisha. She did my bridal photos as the raleigh little theatre rose garde. Also she shot our reh dinner and with her husband, the whole day of the wedding. Cant wait to see the pics, but from start to finish, she made me feel so comfortable and cared for. Check her out online! Her friend Kayla did our hair for 50 bucks a head and was wonderful as well.
7. Officiants: Bil and Cher Holton, from Unitarian Church in Durham. Fantastic couple and met every need we had for our non denominational wedding.
Good Luck planning, and my advice is dont be afraid to hire someone starting out in the wedding biz! They are cheaper and will no doubt work harder for you. Just ask for references...
Hope this helps!
