Problems with the colors... how do we handle this?

Recently I decided on the color of "celadon" from Bill Levkoff for the girl's dresses.  The color is actually identical to Alfred Angelo's celadon as well.  Unforunately, I have not been able to find a similar green from any men's shop I've been to - a few home town ones as well as Men's Warehouse.  I am wondering - ladies, if you're using this celadon color as well, where did you find a matching color?  Men's Warehouse has a cel, but its a LOT lighter in shade.   I'm kind of anal, and I want to make sure the colors match.  Not to mention that my fiance HATES the color so I'm trying to find a green that he'll like that might still relate to the celadon.  Its driving me crazy and I just want a color that will look right... any advice?  HELP!

Re: Problems with the colors... how do we handle this?

  • Agree with PP, go with a silver, black, or what about an accenting color from your planning?
  • Matching the GM to the BM dresses is really prom not wedding to me.  I agree go neutral with the GM.
  • In Response to <a href="http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/wedding-boards_attire-accessories_problems-colors-handle-this?plckFindPostKey=Cat:Wedding%20BoardsForum:15Discussion:5b75c5d5-df84-4336-8282-141e59a488f5Post:2a5d1c52-6b46-42d8-93d2-a112397cd52b">Re: Problems with the colors... how do we handle this?</a>:

Ditto. You can't go wrong with neutrals.

  • the only matching we are doing with the GM is that they are wearing a green tie that matches the girls dresses. black tux, black vest........
  • You might be able to find that color tie at a department store, and then use a neutral colored vest like some PP mentioned.

Also, if he hates that color that much, you often seen the GM wear the color of the BM dresses and then the groom just wears a white vest and tie. That way at least he doesn't have to be in that color.
