...but were afraid to post.
Seriously, am I the only one who's HAD it with ring posts? Here's a word to the wise about engagement rings:
1. Engagement rings, like everything else in life, COST MONEY. If you can't have a productive conversation about the budget of your e-ring, how do you expect to have conversations about other more important fiscal issues?
1a. Do not expect a $10,000 Tiffany ring if your boyfriend's budget is not $10,000.
2. COMMUNICATE. If going shopping together is important to you, let your boyfriend know. If he wants you to sit home, you guys need to come to some sort of compromise. You'll be compromising all throughout your marriage, so you best start now.
2a. It's important that you love the ring, but it's also important that you love what your boyfriend has spent time, thought and money on.
3. At the end of the day, it's just a piece of jewelry. CHILL.
Re: Everything you ever wanted to know about e-rings...
I should add that communication does't mean dropping hints! It seems like some think the ring should be a surprise, but a surprise that fulfills every dream/desire they have had about their ring.

AGREED. Just because he takes you dones't mean you're going to get a ring you saw. It also doesn't mean he's proposing in the next week/month/year... I might be the exception on that one but it doesn't count since he had the ring before he took me "ring shopping"

MLekathLEEN & GPB: I have some photos in hand, I'm bugging my BFF for the rest. I wanted to grab the best ones to show you guys. As for the cake I LOVE IT! FI told his parents what the theme was and what direction to go in. When I saw the crab I literally broke out in a massive smile. The outside of the cake is made of marzipan so we nibbled on the poor crabs legs afterwards. Hopefully I'll have them for you ladies tomorrow.

#2 - That cake is so adorable. I saw one of those cake shows on TLC yesterday and that molding chocolate stuff looked nasty. I need a cake to be cute and tasty!
I haz a planning bio
Oh and your cake does look very fabulous Moto.
once you have picked a ring (if you're picking together) or already have a ring (whether you both picked it or not) STOP SHOPPING.
It's like the wedding dress. You've got the one you've got, so love it.
I know SO MANY guys who within a year of the engagement/wedding, were getting upgrade hints from their fiances/wives. Seriously. Stop shopping. It will never be shiny enough, blingy enough, big enough, or expensive enough if you have that kind of personality...and it seems a lot of posters do.

True story. Shiny/blingy/big doesn't matter to me so much, but I don't even have my ring on my finger yet and I'm already kind of wishing we had chosen a sapphire like I originally wanted. I've just seen so many beautiful sapphire rings since then...

BUT Elle! You know once your BF places that ring on your finger, you'll regret ever doubting your actual ring for a sapphire ring! This we know! Hahaha...
The ring I have isn't even remotely close to what he and I were looking at when it came to styles. But no matter what I love this ring like crazy and I love it more each day. I still like seeing other styles, but no matter what style I see, I can't picture any other ring than the one FI gave me. Positive vibes for you Elle!

Thanks Lyn! I definitely still love the ring that we designed together, and I can't wait to wear it. I still think that it's absolutely beautiful. I just think I may have made the wrong decision.
I originally wanted a sapphire, but I let BF talk me out of it. He didn't want a ring that would look like a birthstone ring. By the time he started coming around and saying that maybe a sapphire was a good idea, I had fallen in love with moissanite.
I'll probably continue to change my mind for the rest of my life. LOL, but true.
Thanks
