Getting in Shape

help!

My dress came back and it fits...like a glove a super tight one that your arms trying to bust out of! Just over my butt and love handle area where the zipper is! I'm definately not a fit bride..I've never really worked out...mostly because I don't know how. So now I have 4 months and 2 weeks to make my dress fit better. So if any of you ladies on a mission have some tips for me they're gladly appreciated. About the diet as well as exercise. I want to try to lose about 10lbs and try it on again to see if that helped and then if more is needed we'll try for more! Thanks ladies!

Re: help!

  • Eat clean small meals. Each meal should be about 300 calories. Avoid sugar, salt, and proccessed foods. You can eat 3 small meals and 2 snacks a day this way.

Do a mix of cardio, weight training, and stretching exercises to get the best results.

What types of exercise do you like? What foods do you like? This will allow us to help you further.

  • More protein, less carbs (potatoes, pasta, rice), more veggies. Smaller portions in general. The protein will keep you full longer. Cut out ANYTHING bad for you that you are not passionately in love with (for me this is brownies, cake, and french fries, but not pie, ice cream, and donuts).

Walk or jog 40 minutes a day. Start by alternating. Walk 5 minutes, jog 5 minutes. Repeat that 4 times until you've done it for 40 minutes. Do this for several weeks. Gradually increase the amount of jogging and decrease the amount of walking when you can.

When you get home, do 15 girl push-ups. Then flip over and do 15 tri-cep dips. Repeat twice.

Every day. If you have an iPod, I recommend listening to an audiobook.

  • I don't know what a tricep dip is? As far as foods I like...I love veggies and stuff but its very hard to plan meals around my house because I work until 9pm. So mostly everything I eat is something boxed that I can take to work or eat in a hurry! My downfall is pasta but I don't eat it much anymore. I really don't eat a lot of food. My portions are always small. I just sit at a desk all day long and can't get up. So where I use to get more walking in I'm getting a lot less. I don't have access to a gym or anything in my area either. I live in a town with not even a red light!

I'm going to send you a message so I can get more detail on your goals and hopefully help out. In the meantime, think positively -  you still have enough time to lose the weight needed and you CAN and WILL get there. Don't be upset, be determined!!! Start with the eating and then a fitness plan that works at your level. the results will come.
  • Also, don't start your entire meal and exercise plan all at once... it's a shock to your system mentally and physically. Make a few small changes every day. Four months is a long time, and you don't want to wear yourself out and give up.
  • Try joining something like myfitnesspal or spark people (both free) to help you track your calories. In order to lose 1lb a week you need to reduce your calories by 500 a day (3500 a week). This should help you figure out how much you are eating and how to reduce your food intake.

If you can't join a gym like PP suggested aboice, try doing body weight exercises or work out DVDs or go for a walk or a jog outside!

  • Definitely eat cleaner. Even if you don't workout a clean diet will reduce your body fat. Less starch (white pasta, bread, rice etc) More lean protien and more fiber! Don't forget healthy fats like nut butters and healthy oils (olive and grapeseed etc) Don't forget to have a little bit of good chocolate or a sweet here and there so you don't go bonkers denying yourself- thats not what it is about..
