Bummed for FI

I feel really bad and guess just wanted to vent.  FI has a really really small family.  It's just him, his mom, 2 aunts, 2 cousins and an uncle.  I come from a small tribe of family members, so the numbers were kind of uneven to start.  This is part of the reason why we only invited 50 people.

We find out this week, his uncle, his 2 cousins and 5 out of the 8 people he had on his list are not attending.  I don't know what to say to him.  He won't come out and admit it, but I can tell he is bumming.   Anyone else have this happen?  I know we have some mutual friends coming too, but all his childhood friends that he has been close with for years bailed.

    Same here- most of my family is traveling 3+ hours, his cousins live 2 miles.   I just feel bad  :(

    We're getting married in my hometown, so all of his family and friends would have to fly in for the wedding. Out of about 50 invited, only 15 are able to make it. I feel terrible, because my family is just bigger to begin with, and most of my friends still live in MN. He says it doesn't bother him but I still feel bad.
