clueless as to what 2 do

Hey everyone--Im new to this whole "Knot-ride"...been engaged for about 5 months now & have done NOTHING yet! Im one that would rather elope, however marrying a wonderful, very traditional guy who wants the whole-big party...so, Im hoping to get some ideas & feedback...& perhaps some pointers on staying sane  LOL  I just started looking up some venues, & am drawn to Bill Miller's Castle in Milford, CT...wondering if anyone knows any pros/cons about that place. Thanks so much & Congratulations to everyone!   Michelle D. :-)

Welcome and congrats! I know how you feel, I wanted a very small destination wedding but FI wants this big Catholic ceremony and reception. Bill Miller's Castle is in Branford. I've never been there and don't know anyone that has but I did call them to inquire about their service when I was looking at different venues and it took the lady 3 months to call me back (of course I already booked my venue by that time).

</div><div>Oh i have been to this one- I wrote a post around Mother's Day that we went there for brunch and it was awesome now that La Luna's took over catering.  I've never been there for a wedding. It's definitely a unique venue and I love the inside.  GL!

congrats and welcome, bill millers is nice a very different kind of place

also in that area is Woodwinds which is your full service wedding place, they have a  coordinator who does a lot of wedidng and can help you every step of the way

if you're not into planning the big party i'd try to find somewhere that has someone like that to keep you sane :)

I don't know about weddings, but my high school prom was held at Bill Miller's and I loved it there. The inside was unique and the food was pretty good though they have a different caterer now. The outdoor space wasn't big (or so I couldn't see cause it was dark out) but I still liked it. If you want something more formal looking, Woodwinds is also very pretty and elegant (had my junior prom there). Both are good places for a wedding but I think 2 can be going on at Woodwinds while one goes on at Bill Millers. Not sure on that, but worth checking out.
