Mail invites 6-8 weeks?

Our wedding is July 31 and a few people are wondering why they have not gotten there invite yet....I saw on the knot previously that you send them out at 6-8 weeks, but really that seems so late. I plan on sending them out by the end of this week I think.

6-8 weeks is just fine, knotties just tend to be really really on top of things!  You don't want to send them out way too early because people set them aside and forget about them because they have so much time.

If you have a lot of OOT guests, sometimes it helps to send them earlier in order for people to plan their travel and hotel.

We sent out save the dates AND sent the invites out early... yet there are people still scrambling to make reservations.

yeah I don't have a lot of OOT people so it would definitely change my plans if I did!

Over half of ours were OOT.  LOL.  Very few of the guests are in MN.  And we had several that USED to live in MN... but they all moved to AZ.

We had more declines than we wanted, but it's what we expected.    Most of my side lives in TN or GA.  But the ones that ARE coming, they are going to be getting more for the money, if you know what I mean.

We put ours in the mail at 7 weeks.  You don't want to put them in too early because people may forget about it and put it on the go through this weekend pile.

We put ours in the mail 8 weeks out.  I wouldn't go any earlier for the reasons kristigiles/kclepire mentioned.  Early hotel information is for STDs/websites.

We are mailing ours out end of July or early Aug for an early Oct wedding. It is on the earlier side but our RSVP date is early Sept and I want to give guest a month to RSVP.
