Wedding Woes

Ann Coulter

and her hateful spewing. Thoughts?

I think she needs to have the teeth extracted from her vag one by one with rusty pliers, be strung up by her vocal chords and have the skin scraped off of her with plastic spoons.

And THEN she should birth a child with special needs and/or have a traumatic brain injury that renders her unable to communicate, move, understand, or be a part of "normal" society.

Re: Ann Coulter

  • She's a horrible horrible person.  THE END.

  • I'll add shaving her bald because that long hair isn't working.

  • I'm pretty sure the devil is digging a new depth of hell for her.

  • In all honestly, I'm tired of her.  I don't pay attention to her at all anymore, the same thing I do to Rush.  I just can't deal anymore, except to laugh.  Laughing is how I've started dealing with crazy.  B/c my brain can't wrap around anyone being so damn crazy, mean and ugly spirited.

I feel sorry for her b/c the very people she thinks she's promoting would sell her out in a heartbeat.  I hope she made plenty of money off of her books, b/c she is going to be old and alone and die alone.  She'll need that money.
  • I get that her "thing" is to be inflammatory. Had she used the "N" word there would be much more of an uproar. With the use of this particular word she's chosen,  I see her punching people who, in general, don't have the capacity to punch back.

There are a few who can raise their voices, like the Special Olympian who so eloquently told her to shove it, but as a whole the only people who can fight for this group are those who love them. And very few people actually listen when it's not someone who *is* of the group targeted.
  • I realize that this one hits close to home for you.

But I think when it comes to Coulter, you're just seeing ennui.  She's just gone so over the top, so many times, that people are tired of reacting to it.  How many times has she been called to the carpet for her behavior/comments.  Too many times to even matter anymore.

If there really was going to be a "Come to Jesus" moment about it on the conservative side, Sarah Palin should be all over it.  She's strangely silent, which is BS.
  • I totally get what you're saying, Varuna. And you're right, if this didn't hit close to home I'd roll my eyes and say, "Again?"

I'm very shocked that Sarah Palin has remained silent through this. And angry about that too. I don't like her but she should be involved in muzzling that btch.
  • What saddens/sickens me more is how many people agreed with her. That tweet got a number of retweets and favorites. It's more disgusting to me that she's sold enough books and made enough of a rustle that she gets repeatedly invited back on TV, etc. There are people who like and agree with her. That gets me. What she actually says- not so much. She's entitled to her sh!tty, disgusting opinions. But she's popular and that's horrible. Someone on Twitter called her a "cvntdonkey" and I think that's an apt description.
  • That too, PMeg. And when called out by people involved in the movement to eradicate the word, these people defend by claiming first amendment rights, that it's cultural vernacular, that people should be so sensitive. It's horrifying.
  • Please don't think I'm on their side- I don't think people should use that word. There are far to many negative things that it's not necessary. But it is a First Amendment right. Unfortunately, I think people need to be reminded that they need to be a decent human being. And the people who don't agree with her use of this word that may have been previously supporters, really need to come out and say something. She'll always have a platform if someone gives her one.

  • I missed what she said, but I'm making some assumptions.  Even without knowing she is a vile human.

    Perfect!

And I LOVE what the Special Olympian wrote.
She's the worst kind of trash there is.  First amendment or not, she knew what she was doing.   Everything she says and does is calculated to get her the most press.  She can DIAF and EABOD.
  • 6- she called the President a "retard" on Twitter. She said Mitt Romney was being nice to the "retard". Of all the words- she picked that one. I agree with AF- it was calculated. She probably loves the attention.
  • I read a really interesting article the other day that hate speech shouldn't be protected by the 1st Amendment.  It really challenged me to think about some things.

The basic point was that hate speech =/= political speech.  It's just hate, calculated to get a response that isn't appropriate.  SImilar to yelling "Fire" in the theatre.

I'm still not sure I totally bought it, but it was supremely interesting.  I'll see if I can track it down again.  I don't even remember what it was in reference to, but it was a similar situation, that calling someone a "retard" wouldn't be protected speech.
  • I figured she called someone that.  I agree it was calculated.
  • It's also not the first time she's done it and not long after that tweet she tweeted something else along the lines of "if Obama was the smartest person on the room then it was a room of retards"
  • She also said someting along the lines of anyone who was offended by what she said is retarded. She's deliberately repeating the word at every opportunity to get a rise out of people. She sucks so hard.

I do think a lot of the lack of response has to do with a DNFTT attitude. And really, how awesome would it be if everyone just flat out stopped reacting to what she said?

i agree with the DNFTT attitude. clearly, it's an immature remark she's made, and there's no way she isn't aware of this.
